Yeah, I should have thought of him, especially with being adamant that Gallant will get it if they make it.
I don't think McPhee is very good though. I feel like they're winning in spite of the moves he's made. It almost felt like he wanted to tank, but that's not happening.

I think Gallant's an easier call than McPhee tbh, Vegas's start is proving they're an expansion team on steroids. McPhee did a nice job gaming the system but the NHL wanted Vegas to be competitive right away too and let them have all these codicils in the expansion draft they took advantage of. I'd be fine with Gallant getting coach of the year and Shero GM of the year
He's gotta get consideration...big offseason trade (MarJo), big IN-season trade (Vatanen), so many of the younger kids doing well.

Yeah people wanted to throw him on the scrapheap and complain he'd be benched if it wasn't politically impossible when he had his first few slow games coming off illness just like Travis has coming off of injury when the masses got on him similiarly. Maybe just maybe there's actually merit to giving vets time to find their game

the expansion draft was set up for them to be on steroids. chayka couldve done this with vegas. if they make the playoffs he'll get it cause its a good story. whatever.

Boyle provides a nice calming presence for Wood. Boyle can corale the puck in the defensive zone or neutral zone and chip it in deep for Wood so he can play his game and then Boyle is there to support on the cycle. I actually really like that duo.

Yeah I forgot about McPhee when listing the nominations and he'll probably get it if VGK make the playoffs. On a serious note Ray acquired Hall (top 5 LW), top 6 in Johansson, top 4 dman in Vatanen, convinced Butcher to sign with NJ and provided a place for guys like Hischier and Bratt to succeed in a pretty short span of time.NJ was bottom 10 in regards to everything except goaltending when he came here too
