I'm not so sure you're accurate in this. Go through the goals kk has given up and how many of them he's been heavily screened on or was deflected in. Both of those early 34 second goals in the 1st in both Arizona and Chicago were both through screens and deflected. (Granted he did have a poor game, along with the team In arizona). Corys done tonight what a good goalie is supposed to do, hang in for there for the onslaught, and then have an easy 2nd and 3rd so far. Hes in his grove, positioning and rebound control have looked alot better this past week then earlier this season.
.896 save percentage.
When he's been THAT bad, it's almost not even worth going through how many goals were and weren't soft.
But I've counted at least 10 this season and that's with just one poor one in Arizona, which was the last goal he allowed. He hasn't had a good game since probably when he came in on relief for Cory (who was bad that game before leaving injured) against Ottawa. He was alright against San Jose and very good against the Rangers. He's been pretty poor since then. outside of a garbage time relief appearance against Winnipeg. Last good start was back in October, I mean, I know he's only had a half a dozen starts or less since then, but not good.
The differential in goaltending between goalies on this team this season, is the one of the largest in the entire league. We have a .920+ goaltender, yet our team save percentage is only a few points above average....
Kinkaid has stunk this year.
