That's an awful lot of $ to pay for a guy who rates 4th line minutes on your squad.

Then why do you have him on the 2nd line? Who cares if he's in shape. Jenner, Foligno, and Calvert should be playing over RJ. Johansen too.

1) Anisimov was great with Gaborik, but Dubinsky has been even better the last two games. +5 tonight. I'd like to try that trio to start the year. Wasn't Anisimov also good at centering Atkinson, at least for a few games last year?

2) Missing Comeau. I'd put him in, possibly to start on the second line instead of Calvert, or put Comeau on the fourth and have Mackenzie and Boller rotate the scratch. Skille to AHL.

3) I'm thinking the same thing generally though. These are our most proven lines, oddly enough.

Woops, added Comeau

Boone looks like he's already in his 30's.

Don't sleep on Testube...would be a shame for him to only see 4th line minutes. He was, after all, our 2nd leading scorer last year. (Not that I expect him to be this year). The guy scores timely goals.

remember how bad his +/- was when he got here? to see -88 is a blessing it feels...hahahaa
To be honest his +/- was absolutely the same. He's zero as a Jacket.
No, but neither one of them have earned the C.
The best hockey in franchise history this team played when nobody had the C.

And Foligno is a top-9 player on this team.

Yes, but if one is awarded, it won't be to a guy who is coasting through the preseason. A leader gives his all ANYTIME he takes the ice to set an example for the rest of the squad.

And no, if Boone Jenner is for real, Foligno is NO LONGER a top 9 player on this team - especially once Horton comes back.

Oh boy. We really need to stop putting so much in the preseason.

The winless Detroit Lions in 2008 went undefeated in the preseason. Just sayin'

Sidney Crosby? Has he even played this preseason? Should they strip his C and give it to Malkin?

This. The preseason is for nothing more than bragging rights, and it's questionable that it's even worth that. It's a chance to see all of your guys play together and get a feel for where guys are and who's ready to play. Nothing more.

Then why are you hating on Foligno?

Not hating on the dude, but I believe Letestu brings more value to the squad. What I hate is the idea of burying Letestu on the fourth line so Foligno can play on the second or third (discussed earlier in this thread). Foligno is not a fourth line-type player. So if one believes he is not top nine, I don't see where he fits.

You thought Foligno or Umberger were going to get bumped down to 4th line when Horton got healthy, but if Jenner continues to play well it looks like it is going to happen at the start of the season.
