Bowers was just not going to get his shot with the Avs. At the same time, he had not earned it either.

Avs get a goalie that will probably get 2-3 games the rest of the regular season as well as be there as likely the third option come playoff time.

Bowers could still become something, but its a long shot. He just has not shown it so far. From the Avs end, 2-3 wins in the regular season from a goalie is worth giving him up.

Kid couldn’t produce in the AHL, get the feeling if he wasn’t a first and part of a big trade that he would’ve been moved a long time ago

For the Avalanche, it's a shame with Shane Bowers.

He was seen as a fairly large piece of the Matt Duchene trade, and was talked about as a can't miss player (at least as a bottom-6 center) due to his strong hockey IQ. I remember one well known podcaster in particular who was incredulous that the Avalanche signed free agent center PE Bellemare, who the podcaster claimed was "blocking" Bowers...all the way back in 2019.

Flash forward to four years later and Bower is dealt for an insurance #3 goalie on an expiring contract; not the outcome fans were expecting. Hopefully for the player's sake he can turn things around with the Bruins.

Sounds like Beecher. Now the bruins have two of these guys.

The Georgiev that played for the Rangers?

He seemed very average in New York. What has he done to raise his game? (Don't see the Avalanche much).
More consistency. Georgiev had great games in New York mixed with bad games to get to average. Georgiev this year has mostly had super good games. It is only 1 season though so obviously still needs to keep it up.

AHL'er for an AHL'er regardless of their origin story. Providence will need bodies after the Black Ace's get called up for the playoffs.
Maybe the B's system will allow him to be a productive bottom 6 guy, He's starting to get a little long in tooth for a prospect of any kind. Never know, some guys make it late.

Bowers will learn the system. Shane has a high hockey IQ and he will show it in Prov. Hit the gym and play with the skilled boys on the farm will do him well. Let’s go Shane!

How well is he performing this year? Do your homework.
Knowing Oilers fans and goalers, you lot probably wouldn't recognise good goaltending even if it was biting the back side of your arse. So I truly understand why you're wrong about this.

What is a decent comparison/projection (if all clicks)... Nico Sturm?
If all clicks, I like that comparison. Bowers is pretty dang fast, he has great wheels and a solid IQ for the game to play as a centre role, but pretty much everything else is lacking.

I would have liked this better if this was either Keith Kinkaid for Bane Bowers or Keith Kinkaid for Shane Showers
Sources say that's why he was on the block. The Eagles have singled him out as the weird, stinky kid in the locker room because he doesn't.
