Santini out for the weekend. Looks like team USA really made sure Santini couldn't go.

Kuja is back playing.

Right now the prospect of the week is Chatham. A goal and 3 assists in his 3 games back.

Q is really disappointing me so far. In a 7 goal game he had no points. I'll have to do some more research on him and see if I can get some insight from Brandon fans out there.

Update: Quenneville has been playing 2nd line duties with his brother. He previously was on the Hawryluk line and has been split up for some reason. It seems like their line has been playing fine, but he has been snakebitten for the most part.

At least it sounds like his overall play has been good. Maybe he just needs that one lucky break for the floodgates to open for him.

He was at a PPG for a while. He is just in a slump.

A lot of young forwards struggle a bit with consistency. As long as he works through the slump, he should be fine, and I do like when slumping players still try to contribute in another ways even if they can't get on the scoresheet. It sounds like Q's been doing that, so that makes me happy.

I wonder how much of an affect is pulling him off the Hawryluk pairing.

Edit: Can also be related to the concussion he had earlier this season? Playing timidly or just out of sync? Who knows

There has been a lot of line juggling going on in the first half of the season that I think will lessen as we get closer to playoffs. Like a lot of the guys, he is struggling with the chemistry factor a bit so scoring is down and the team is still getting it done by committee. Three really strong lines on any given night, hard to call any of them the best or worst line. 4th line is no slough either so ice time is shared more by all this year.. Still consider him a very good player and really adding a physical presence to his game this year. Pretty good prospect for you but he hasn't had that wow factor yet for me this year for probably for the said reasons. Seen some pretty good players here over the years and some make it , some don't, don't write him off because he has a lot of talent but , can't call him a sure thing yet , needs to get better, .

Kujawinski's been traded to North Bay. Hopefully this is a chance for him to get a little more responsibility.

Kujawinski, a six-foot-two, 207-pound resident of Iroquois Falls, Ont., has scored 13 goals and earned 10 assists for 23 points in 27 games this season while drawing 18 minutes in penalties.

The Sarnia Sting’s first-round pick, fourth overall, in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection, Kujawinski has 69 goals and 79 assists for 148 points with 114 penalty minutes in 197 games over three-plus seasons. In 11 Kingston playoff games in the last two years he has three goals and one assist for four points.

“He’s a big, strong forward with good skills,†said Stan Butler, Battalion director of hockey operations and head coach, who’s been busy through the holiday period in advance of the trade deadline Friday. “He upgrades our team.â€

Awesome post from feistygoat of NJDEVS.com:

Roberts Lipsbergs (Stockton - ECHL): 14 GP 2-1-3, -4, 14 PIM, 18.18 SH%, 0.79 SH/GP

Happened to spot this: http://seattlethunderbirds.com/article/lipsbergs-returns-to-t-birds

Lipsbergs went back to Seattle today when they opened up an overage spot. The spot was vacated by team captain Justin Hickman who suffered a season ending shoulder injury.

When I saw Seattle back in early September, I thought Hickman stood out. He played well enough to get a handful of games with the Islanders AHL team last season. I believe he attended Winnipeg's summer prospect camp as well.

I thought he'd be in a good spot to put up decent numbers this year with Matt Barzal (probable top 15) and Ryan Gropp (likely 2nd rounder). But Hickman was injured early in the season and then Barzal got hurt. Hickman had a respectable 28 points in 31 games. I am probably overplaying the one game, but I thought Hickman had some Clarkson qualities about him.
