I thought Granlund was worse, but like people have said everyone was horrible. Coyle had chances to shoot it twice on one pp that he passed up and led to turnovers.

The Coyle line sucked because Charlie can't win a faceoff to save his life, leaving them chasing from the drop of the puck.

The Granlund line sucked because they'd win a d-zone faceoff but then as they were trying to break up ice, the passes out of the zone were complete utter crap causing turnovers thus leaving the line chasing from their failed breakout on.

We need a winger faceoff specialist on Coyle's line.. Have Coyle super cheat to win the draw or get kicked out and then bring in the winger specialist! Wasn't that what Granlund did last year?? Who was the wing that always came in...? Heater?

Cullen when he was on Granlund's wing.

His time as a center helps out a lot when Mikko is kicked out of the circle.

Earlier in the year I wondered if Coyle would ever have a scoring touch in the NHL. Small sample size , but he seems to have found it in the last part of the season and the PO's. He's being noticed around the league.

Double post, but in all reality do you guys remember how good Coyle was early in the season before his injury?

I feel like he came back and was still fighting it for awhile and that dogged his confidence (along with being juggled back and forth from Center and Wing every other game)...it seems like he's back to the Coyle who Wild fans were actually the highest on over Brodin/Granlund/etc. at the beginning of the season.

Also appears he realizes he is a lot bigger than a few players out there :biglaugh: he was throwing them around

absolutely the most important aspect of his turnaround, I think. Use his size in an aggressive manner rather than just defensive. ever since that one game demotion. Even if he wasn't scoring he was picking up confidence while banging.

What is Coyle's look at Center good bad?

Is his defensive game good enough to be a Shut down Center???

Center. I have never been sold on his offensive game ever since his BU days. I also say him as a more offensively talented Kyle Brodziak and still hold that view. If he can be turn into something like that, center who plays #1 PK minutes, #2 PP minutes, can score 40pts consistently, key faceoff person, and is the glue on our energy and power line, I will be VERY happy.

EDIT: Don't remember how good he is at the dot though. Just WISHED he could be a key guy.

I like Coyle at center, but with Haula in the mix, Coyle should stay at wing. And I want no part of the "dump Koivu" movement.

When Haula went down last night, Coyle was a liability at center...would've rather seen Carter get more time and Coyle stay on the wing than what we saw from Coyle in the 3rd at center.

Carter would have looked way worse.

I would rather Coyle stays at wing, but I thought the Zucker - Coyle - Nino line was fine. Can't really say they were great last night but they weren't any worse than the Granlund or Koivu lines.

Lots of Coyle talk recently, and I thought I would bump this after reading the last Russo's rants.. Yeo's playing with the line, and saying they want to focus on Coyle and give him more stability in the lineup..
Top 3?
Parise - Koivu - Pommers
Niederreiter-Granlund-Fontaine
Vanek - Coyle - Zucker

Also, Yeo stated that moving Coyle to center puts him "in a spot that would maximize his abilities and give him a little more stability in the lineup"

How long does Coyle at center last?
