It's so awesome being a fan of a team that never manages assets. It was great losing, Iginla, Kipprusoff, JBow, Phaneuf, Giordano and Gaudreau for nothing. Then watching Brad swing a homerun trade that enabled the team to finally rebuild this year and next. Then watching ownership decide to move a 1st to dump Monahan so we could replace him with a boat anchor for 7 year. Then watching ownership force Brad to extend to 30 year olds to monster retirement contracts.

Wouldn't surprise me if Ritchie is given a shot in the Flames top 6. Sutter LLLLLLOVES his big grizzled vets that pass his height requirement.

Treliving is just a puppet in the Flames office. 100% Flames ownership makes all the calls.

Yup. I don't blame Treliving. We all have bosses. I think he's a smart guy. Norman Edwards the British taxpayer is a stain on this city and province.

I hope they both choose to keep their brother's number so that they can keep the Jerseys exactly the same.

Arizona was probably like, sure we'll take Brett but you have to take Nick because we're not going to pay for the extra B. and N. letters.

Can someone from either team explain this to an outside observer?
Coyotes get a younger defenseman with some potential, Flames get a slight upgrade in a couple positions hoping they can catch Seattle as for the last 40 games or so they've played at the same level as one another.

Pretty solid trade for both. Flames get better and by loving a prospect that wasn’t working out there.
