That's an amazing deal for Jackets(Jones needs a new agent).

It's over 1mil less than I expected.

Looks like Jones got the term he wanted and Jackets got the salary they wanted.

Yes.
Now if we fans can just get the play we want.

Hopefully the upward progression I think we saw continues.

Now on to the moves necessary to create cap space for this signing and additional flexibility.

I'm happy with the deal, but I feel as if it's a fair deal for both sides

It just looks great to many CBJ fans due to the numerous terrible contracts that we do have

Now if i hear 1 buyout, and 1 player placed on LTIR, and 1 traded, this team will be close to fixed

So, what happened to his agents wanting to set the market? :sarcasm:

Also, where are the haters at? Sure, we have some bad contracts, but we also have quite a few good ones now.

The key, that no one has brought up, is this also sets the market for what Murray and Werenski will get if they develop like we hope.

No, it's a great deal. Look at what some other defensemen have gotten recently.

The Jones and Joey trade debate (who won?) is going to occupy these Boards for the next decade. But with this contract, and thinking about what Joey's next contract is going to be like, I'm liking being on the CBJ side right now...
