I've had to create such monstrosities before when working for not-for-profits to deal with hideously insane requirements. I still have on my wall (next to me as I type this) a letter of commendation from my synagogue's co-presidents at the time that basically amounts to "on behalf of the Board, thank you thank you thank you so much for FINALLY making our VP Finance shut up!" :D

I have a cousin who's a professional storm chaser (as in he makes quite a good income from driving around taking storm footage and selling it to news and weather outlets). It's not his only job, but it's quite lucrative for storm season. He studied meteorology at OSU. Being able to look at the models and predict where supercells will occur and be there in time takes a lot of technical skill and knowledge. All that to say: he was in Indiana yesterday chasing the same storm and got some amazing shots of funnel clouds he shared to our family groupchat. He only cares about clouds themselves, so he's not interested in selling photos of destruction porn like some chasers.

Today's Funny Observation: I have sometimes found it legitimately refreshing and healthier to spend Outrage Points less on real-world doomscrolling and instead on tearing into folks with crappy Armchair GMs on CapFriendly.

Maybe that's the real reason why I hang out around TR&FA here as well. :dunno:

With April 8th fast approaching, I am not looking forward to the mass influx of people coming into the State all at once.

Related to the above: you know you've really gotten to somebody when they go to the trouble of Googling your nickname, thereby finding your actual name, and then start addressing you by same in their angry replies.

It's not really a big deal for me personally - I've always assumed from the start that folks know who and where I am for umpteen billion different reasons (what with being one of three people with my surname and being present on the Internet in 1992 as a preteen being talked about by her parents, for starters) but just because I'm 'meh' about it doesn't make it any more reasonable of an action.

Yeah attending the Crew game and it was indeed nothing - no rain, no thunder, no floods. Whoever did the weather forecast for the Crew/organization did a great job by moving that start time 90/20 minutes, that 8.30/9.00 PM start time was perfect and lots of people must've started their journey right after the rain ended and still made it to the game in time (like me).

Hope everyone in the other areas is safe and unaffected as much as possible though!

After it was past us with no issues around 7:45 I started checking the TV just to see if it was anywhere else. Looked like there were some worries far east of Columbus. Did anything happen?

As someone who teaches music to high school level kids in my free time...
OK so I'm interested in this and moved this quote from the host thread here since it's OT. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear more about this.

In my first professional life, I was a band director, and have taught lessons privately off and on over the years. What your (free time) gig?

I do some freelance percussion arranging and I teach percussion for a local competitive HS marching band during the summer and fall. Makes it hard to attend games until around mid November buts something I deal with.

We live in western Delaware County, on a small country road. We've had probably 150 cars drive by in the last half-hour. That might be three days' worth typically. We do have a park down the road from us where they're planning a thing but there' no way all of these cars are going to our tiny little park with almost no parking.

This was the coolest thing I ever saw. People in our neiborhood started cheering and blowing off fireworks. Can't wait for 2444.
