vancouver wins in a walk

tanev is not worth that much

overpayment for Tanev

Lol, yeah right. Seabrook has one of the worst contracts in the NHL and his term is egregious. When you look at the Bolland, Bickell, Datsyuk, etc. cap dump trades - Seabrook is an even bigger anchor with his term and cap hit. Taking on Seabrook alone should carry a 1st with him, probably more. Why do we add Tanev who could return a mid-early 1st on his own?

Canucks get ripped off based on precedent cap dump trades.

With all of the Hawk's core slipping downwards noticeably ( except Kane ) it really makes no sense to be trading a high draft pick.
Nothing will help the Hawks make it deep again into the PO's ... we won 3 ... time to slide into mediocrity for a while and pop up again in 3 - 5 years hopefully!

in the last 5 years Tanev has missed

40 games
29 games
13 games
12 games
18 games

these basic stats hurt Tanev's value

that is around 100 games in 5 years

seabrook over the same time has missed 5 games
goals?
40 goals and 147 assists for 187 pts

how many pts has Tanev gotten?

16 goals 60 assists for 76 pts

Seabrook is averaging about 20 minutes a night same as Tanev

the no value thing comes from his contract--and not just about his play

and so the hawks are giving up 8oa for to dump a player with better complete stats that you do not have to elongate over an 82 game period because unlike Tanev--Seabrook plays a full season

I can see either the Canes or Arizona taking Seabrook and it wont cost the 8oa--which is the most valuable piece in the trade
The Canes? Well that's out of left field....

He is just 2mill and change more then Tanev, plays more games and racks up more goals and assists

You do realize Defensemen don't have to score goals and assists right?

Tanev is miles ahead of Seabrook defensively.

Uhm have you seen the length of his contract we already have loui eriksson plus what if luongo retires early then we will be screwed so i dont think its worth it espeacially if that 8th overall pick doesnt pan out
