Bittersweet. He’s a player that goes to the right places and works hard on both ends of the ice which is something the Oilers need more of. Unfortunately, he has little finish/composure. Hope he turns it around in Carolina.

Maybe he'll fit in there with some other Finns to help him along. Probably the best place for him.

For the Canes sake I hope they didn't give up anything of real value.

Happy for JP. Sad as an Oiler fan. Was really hoping they would deal Yamo instead, use JP for the stretch run and if his play didn't improve, let him walk in the summer.

Not a guarantee that he’ll play regularly. Carolina’s been running a 21 man healthy roster for most of the season; there are roster spots to play with.

could see him scoring 30+ goals with Aho TBH. Pretty big loss for Edmonton
While I think he can certainly bounce back and be a productive player, 30 goals seems like a stretch. It’s not like he wasn’t playing with McDavid or Draisaitl for extended periods of time.

It is a loss, but not offensively. His two-way play and presence will be missed but less so at 3mil.
