Dazed and Confused

Ludicrous speed, GO!

He's been better 5in5 this year.
A little quicker, I think.
Still mostly a perimeter player, but better. He can still show his power game now and then but not often enough.
My faveorite:
Sometimes he throws out the dumbest passes in the world. It's almost comical. He'll do great work on the boards to recover the puck, then just no look it right on the opponent's tape.
In the Oilers' zone.
He does this less this year but he still does it.
It's almost as good as the Russell line change controlled break out.

I think Lucic has looked a little better once he and Nuge starting getting (an up to speed) Slepyshev and Puljujarvi on their RW.

Strome and Yamamoto slightly complement RNH, but on a line like that Milan is just useless. He needs someone to cycle with, not two other finesse players. Slepyshev, Puljujarvi (and Draisaitl of course) are ideal on that line as they can keep up with RNH's skill and skating, but also cycle with Lucic when the play goes to the boards. Strome, Yamamoto, Caggiula, and Letestu can't, which is depressing as those have been the main options tried there this season...

Not sure about NHL rules, but at least here in Europe Nuge would have been ineligable to shoot because of his penalty right before the end.

Only if it is a misconduct or match penalty. RNH would have been allowed in the shootout, Lucic on the other hand would not have been allowed.

Ahh ok, good to know.

Letestu should practice another move.

He could come exactly the same speed and line. Either go low blocker/glove (like he does always) or fake the shot and go backhand.

I don't get why the NHLPA would want McDavid to take as much as possible. All that does is prevent the lower end players from getting decent money. It's ridiculous

The NHLPA is fractured over escrow. Certain factions are advising star players to take the biggest deal possible to protect themselves from future escrow creep, whereas others feel that approach just leads to an arms race where every new bigger money deal will hurt the older ones more and more each season.

Yep. And it hurts the 3/4 liners the most.

NHLPA representation is usually skewed to prominent players. As it is with any league.

Further, every capped league ends up with the same kind of pay distribution. You get the Lions eating top money, very stratified, you get some Bobcats eating moderately, and a bunch of kitty kats gnawing on a few kibbles.

In pro sports professional associations representation does not key on the lower paid it keys on the marquee players that are perceived to generate the worth of the entire product.

This is the world spinning as it should. Everything caters to marquee players.

It is not ridiculous at all.

Maybe because many of the "lower half" salary players think they will and can become "upper half" salary players... And most of the rest are just happy to be there.
