There is like, nothing to be learned from this game because a normal hockey game wasn't played. The refs decided there wouldn't be a game today, simple as that.

I have to nitpick Tocchet for not calling a timeout after 5-4, 5-5, or even 6-5 when the bleeding needed to stop.

Desmith was not good but when you spend half the game on a 5 on 3 making lateral plays, and have two goals off of skates, whatever, sure. Hasn't been good enough of late.

Quite a few games lately with weak reffing or breakdowns or mistakes that have cost them. It’s weird because I think they’ve generally played well the majority of the games but some of the defensive breakdowns are concerning. Hopefully facing some adversity can get them refocused.

1st in the league, and we are acting like the wheels are falling off. Just be more disciplined, get better goaltending, defend better, and move on to the next game.

Sometimes, you lay up a stinker. But they still scored 7 goals. This team was nowhere in the last 5 years; there were a lot of kinks to work out before they would be a true contender. It's better to find those spots now than in the playoffs.

No excuses for this

I don’t know about that. After a rough start to the first, we had the game totally under control until the late 2nd. Then Garland gets hurt, and the Wild got - what, four 5 on 3s in a row? I think three of those were total gifts, too.

I think we totally shit the bed for about 5 minutes after the 6-5 goal. The 7th and 8th goals weren’t great, and everything the Wild were getting to the net was going in somehow - off a leg, a skate, a stick, whatever. DeSmith wasn’t sharp, either.

Then we actually knuckled down, fought back and nearly tied it. Empty netters are what they are.

But seriously - f*** NHL officiating. Best sport, worst league. And the directive to f*** us is clearly in. But even then, if we’d gotten competent goaltending, we probably take this one.

Poor DeSmith might not see a start for a bit.

Embarrassing display by the officials after being called out after the Jets game.

Completely altered the game then the Canucks took over with the third period collapse.

DeSmith was awful and hopefully sees limited ice down the stretch. Some major breakdowns around the net didn't help matters.

Last 2 games have showed the team is very mentally fragile when faced with adversity. Don't see them going deep in the playoffs this year

Tomlinson should be replaced next year. That was an emotional game for Canucks fans and he was completely bland. Not a single criticism of the refs in one of the worst officiated games in Canucks history
Why did Garrett get banned from Canucks games anyway?

DeSmith probably just costed himself a big contract from someone for next year

I mean, yes we are first, but we are not playing the way we started the season. Let’s call our fan base damaged goods from a lot of indirect abuse from this team. They never ment to hurt us, and they did the best they could, but we got some trust issues and have taken a number or really hard emotional blows.

Find me a bunch of games where a team lets in 10 goals …
DeSmith was bad after all the 5on3. Hell the last 5on4 goal shouldn’t even happen but the refs refuse to blow the whistle after the puck was like covered by DeSmith and they just let the wild dig it out just because why the f*** not

Team needs a massive wake up call.

PP is shit.

And penalties are getting called frequently (rightly or wrongly).

Clean it up or this next stretch ain’t going to be good.

Refs felt they missed the Myers pick on the first goal and then spent the rest of the game trying to hand them that goal back, and ended up handing them 3-4 goals. Just an absolute disgrace.

Not much to take from this one other than that JT Miller was fantastic and that DeSmith is struggling.

That felt like 2011. Or the entirety of the period from Burrows-Auger through SJ 2013, more accurately.

Well they also came back to within 1 after that utter shit show in the second half of the second and the first half of the third. That game was f***ed on a multitude of levels.

Another horrible take.

One thing that's impressed me this season is the adversity the team has that it has always lacked the last decade.

2 games don't define a season you should be smart enough to know that.
