We've lost 6 of the last 8 games, so yes, this team currently sucks.

Can they turn it around? Yes.
Did they suck at the start of the year? No.
Do they currently suck? Yes.

I don't know why you get confused when fans criticize the team after yet another pathetic start to the game. Do you even watch the games? If you've watched the last 8 games, there's no possible way your mindset right now can beat "oh well, great effort guys! We'll get them next time!". The team is playing like junk, so of course fans aren't happy. People are allowed to express their feelings however they want, and if they disagree with yours, it doesn't make them "a troll"
I think the losses need context.

I mean we are losing to a good (at the moment) montreal team in OT (still should have won but w.e), lost to NYR (top in their division), Bruins, a streaking jets and kraken teams, FLA (we seems to always lose to them regardless) in those past 8 games.

If we were losing to columbus, the current state of edmonton, san jose, chicago, etc in all of those losses, then I would be much more concerned. I am concerned and would love to see some changes and am willing to say them again, but I am not ready to burn it down. We've had like the hardest schedule so far and are still second in the division. It is what it is, but if we don't clean up these ridiculous passing issues and benching some players that need to be away from the ice, then we will be middle of the pack again and it's gonna suck.

People do crazy things in crazy times...IDK Zadina just had a GWG against connor mcdavid...SJS do need defense....maybe petry likes northern california?

So if we expect to beat the bad teams, and are ok with losing to the good team, where does that put us? In the mediocre middle again, with the 11th pick in the draft?

Rinse and repeat every year...not overly optimistic the rebuild is ending any time soon. It's especially more frustrating considering we arent even letting the prospects play in the NHL. I'd rather be a mediocre team full of prospects who gain experience, than a mediocre team full of guys like Petry, Ghost, Fischer, Czarnik etc etc etc

not so fast. Think about the context.

We added how many new players to play a system they essentially have never played (still feels like we aren't playing the system but w.e)? What about having all of these new players trying to find chemistry early in the year, but have to play against the best teams in both conferences so far.

I am not sure how you inferred this from what I said, but no, if we only lose to the top teams and win against bad teams, I don't expect us to be good this year. What I am saying is, we are losing to good to great teams early on in a year where we have a bunch of new players to the team and someone else pointed out that our strength of schedule get's easier for the rest of the year. It is much better to lose to great teams now and learn/grow the team as the season goes on vs. barely winning and finding out later in the year.

For your last point, I agree on petry so I'll blow past that one, but ghost other than two games has been tremendous for us, fischer has been pretty good for a 4th liner (who would you put in his spot on the 4th line from GR? I would rather whoever just popped in your head stay in GR to get more minutes), and czarnick is playing 4c pretty damn well by creating chances and winning faceoffs. So, I am not sure you are actually watching the games intensely enough or something. Now, if you were to add perron in this list then we can go get some beers and have great conversations on how much he is terrible, but you chose czarnik?!?!?!

Also, having a team full of prospects with little to no veteran presence will literally do nothing for the prospect to gain experience. They will just gain experience in losing more handily than anything that is actually useful. They need to be brought up, I don't disagree there, but icing a lot of rookies/prospects would be the worst thing to do. See zadina and Athanisiou(?)

Ghost is -5, and pretty brutal defensively. He's a PP specialist, always has been, except of late the PP has been awful, so he doesn't bring much to the table. I agree on Perron, his footspeed is terrible, and his time in this league is all but up. Fischer is fine as a 4th liner, but why not have a bit more skill on the roster? We could obviously use it, and with the top line hibernating, more skill on other lines could help. As for Czarnik, he just doesn't do it for me. There's a reason he's never been an NHL regular before this season. Believe me, I am watching the games intensely enough, my wife would argue that I'm actually watching them too intensely. I watch every game, and on the rare occasion I can't watch it live, I make sure to watch it later.

I really just have a hard time seeing where the current team is going. I'm getting impatient....

Ghost is a -5 after being -6 in the past 5 games where we have all been bad during this 8 game stretch. He makes some pretty damn good defensive plays, they just aren't highlighted enough, like Walman too. Yes, Ghost is a pp specialist and that is all I thought he was going to be for our team, but he has actually played quite well defensively given the entire picture and not the past 5 games where we all suck. I hate his passing and him trying to fit every pass through 3 guys every game, but that goes for everyone on the roster right now.

I said it before and I'll say it again, we need to have a full 2-4 hour practice where there is absolutely no shooting. There is only passing. Once you lose control, the loser switch lines (5v5) and do 3 faceoffs. Whoever wins 2-of-3 gets control. The line, regardless of who it is, with the most passes before it gets taken away get's the most minutes in the next game, second most, gets second, etc. It'll teach the defending players to forecheck because every player wants minutes. This all has to be done with no offsides and you cannot go past center ice for any reason. The goalies can be off in a corner somewhere with the goalie coaches and whoever else to learn rebound control for the 2 hours.

If we did that, we become a better team immediately because chemistry is finally taking shape. We have offensive ability already. What we need are players that are willing to forecheck their asses off, passing with some kind of efficiency, and more speed. We do this, we get wins. I can't tell you how many times I have seen us make just an abhorrent pass or decision where if we did one of 10 other things in the moment, we would have had an offensive scoring chance.

I agree with the impatience.

My hairline has been racing my bald spot for a decade.

They both won. I lost. :)
I hear you, but in my case the front receded so quickly I never got to develop a bald spot. Jebus, what I wouldn't give for just a localized spot.
