First they make them cut their hair, then dress them up like Nancy-boys... what next neuter them and take them to a live Oprah show.

Disgrace!

They'd be fine if it was Team Switzerland or Team Germany, because they look more like those two nations than Canada.

Bring back the Canada Cup trophy/half-maple leaf look...that was the greatest uni ever.

Cooperalls rule!

But yeah, they're not pretty jerseys. Although I have to say, considering the slimming look they had on the Junior team, they could be marketed to enhance the appearance of fat people, because, well, we're all pretty overweight.

Since team canada was force to get their hair cuts. They should also be force to get their jersey's cut.

Team canada should get the bottom half of their jersey's cut into tang top and their socks cut in half. They would go much faster with half a jersey and skate much better with only half their socks.

We can donate the bottom half of those jerseys to the czech team as scarfs and the bottom part of the socks as mittens. Canada is a cold country you know...

Nothing can replace the classic-styled jerseys (like the ones from last year); however, as much as it pains me to say it, the jerseys (not the socks) are starting to grow on me.

everyone says they look smaller and skinnier...

well its because thats what they actually are, putting on the big jerseys does not make them suddenly play like a 220 pounder.

The jersey's look sweet, and teams willl not be able to clutch and grab them as easily

So true. I like the look of the jersey. While it isn't traditional, it looks really sleek and I'm sure it will grow on people once we start winning in them.

Tighter Jerseys

While it may not seem as relevant, the world of Rugby has moved towards the slimmer jerseys in the past few years, and while this was met with some difference of opinion at its inception, it has now become the norm for the sport. While I am not entirely impressed with the way the players look (its the size of them out there that makes we wonder about the jerseys), these could become the new norm. There are also rumours out there that Reebok has plans to create new jerseys for the NHL teams as well.

Worst Jerseys I have ever seen... Watching the first exhibition game against the Czechs I knew they were going to be bad as Simon Gagne was laughing when he had to model them in the summer, but I didn't know it was going to make them look so skinny.

When I played hockey the worst feeling was having a small jersey... very restrictive.. and you don't look as good which also helps with confidence.... lol.... Everyone on the team looks tiny. I hope they come to their senses and switch back next year.

My only beef with the jerseys is the same as many other folks': they're too tight.

Everyone knows how awesome it looks when guys (Modano comes to mind) kick into that extra gear, and their jerseys flap in the breeze because they seem to be skating at about the speed of sound. How do you get that look when the jerseys are painted on? It just isn't the same.

I remember seeing the NHL players testing these this past summer at practice, World Cup?, I think it was Joe Thornton who couldn't fit into one. I can't wait to see Bertuzzi at Olys :biglaugh:

I'm glad that they made them cut their hair, long hair is so NOT manly. I was at the midnight mass and there was this boys choir singing but I kept wondering if there were some girls among them because almost all had long hair and it was really ugly. They looked like a bunch of hippies singing classical Christmas and Christian songs. Imagine the old Jagr with long hair wearing these new jersey... eek.

Seems as some of the WJC teams have those jerseys and socks with ugly vertical lines on them too, at least the USA, Czechs, Norway and Latvia have basically identical uniforms.

If the players look small would that encourage other teams to play us more physically?
For example: If you see a big guy you tend to shy away whereas a smaller less imposing player may look like easy prey?

Since the Canadian team set out to establish themselves physically from the first minute (successfully too I might add), you might want to tell Finland about your theory.

I never saw a game where anybody shied away from a jersey. I think Finland got the message in any case.

Jersey?

I really can't believe such a big deal is being made about the jersey. Quite frankly I was paying attention to the game and didn't notice anything about the jersey.

After looking at photos in the paper the morning I can't see anything really bad about them.

I'm going to toss in another option with this poll: I don't care about fashion, I don't care about how they look, as long as Canada's players have gold medals around their neck and the Canadian national anthem is being played after the game.
