Having the farm team in Calgary is awesome. I'm really excited to catch games live and get to see more of the prospects without dealing with minor league video feeds.

I think the AHL team is going to do really well here.

Stoke me a clipper.
The Calgary Wranglers announced today that they have signed goaltender Daniil Chechelev, defencemen Simon Lavigne and Rhett Rhinehart, and forward Brett Sutter to one-year AHL contracts. Forward Mitchell McLain has been signed to a two-year AHL contract.

Happy to see this come back in house to be honest with you.
The farm team shouldn't be a million miles away, much easier to manage personnel and players with them being in Calgary.

It'll be fun to see how much attendance they get, and the events and stuff.

I agree, should be some huge benefits from the increased first player assessments.
That's a lot of hockey at the old Dome. I'm curious to see how the ice holds up.

We need a new arena in the worst of ways.
Both for hockey fans, but also for the city.

More bands, more shows, a new entertainment district.

I 100% agree. It's almost embarrassing at this point and I'd be shocked if it wasn't at least a contributing factor to the offseason events.

Flames and Heat were about done..... which is why the negativity and the branding went to Wranglers CSEC needed an identity to distinguinsh the AHL Affiliate from the history of the affiliation and the branding surrounding both.... there's only one Flames team... and that's Calgary's.... Knights didn't make sense in Omaha for the 2 years the affiliate was there.....

Fantastic to hear the AHL affiliate is now in Calgary.
Zavgorodny just gave an interview about Stockton. Damn.....

It is very dangerous there. There are a lot of African-American gang members. We would go to practice then head straight home trying to keep a low profile. You don't go out when it's dark. When I initially arrived in Stockton I was given a map of the city; half marked in red and the other green. You couldn't go to the southern red parts as it was too dangerous. Even the police don't go there. Stockton didn't give off good impressions; there are many homeless people, garbage, fights on the streets.

Once a gang of bikers arrived for a large convention. We had a home game at the same time. After the game we were locked in the locker-room and told to wait because a riot had arrupted on the street and gunfire could possibly occur. So we waited a half-hour, then the police escorted us to our cars. But everything was good, only a couple of windows were broken. There was no shooting and killing.

One time a guy climbed onto the roof of my teammates' house. Probably to rob him. The police were called and he jumped off and ran away. All the guys on the team tried to rent houses and apartments in good neighborhoods and stayed at home rather than going out in their free time. If you want to do something you had to go to San Francisco or Sacramento.

The Heat needed some "Night Heat" for team security by sounds of it............Jambone and O'Brien would of kept the guys safe

This is wild. Everyone knows Stockton's a shit hole, but, this is wild.

Imagine going from a warzone to a top 10 most livable city on the planet overnight as an AHLer.
