The fact that Armstrong frankly talked about it as an option in the press conference after firing Berube, where in the past he's been very pointed about not believing in doing buyouts of any player, suggests someone is under the microscope to get paid to leave this offseason.

Can we find a taker for Krug? I'm sure we can. Are we willing to wait until 2025 when the last 2 years are only $6.5M and $6M in salary, and his NTC drops from full to 15 teams, if that taker isn't someone Krug will waive the full NTC for? That might be the bigger test.
That’s honestly what Army is getting paid for this summer, IMO.

This tracks with every Flames game I've watched this year. They don't have another gear and they let everyone they play hang around for 60.
do they have any impact forwards? sharagonov has been noticeable and they have some interesting kids, but none of their vets up front look like they are worth a damn. lindholm would be fine as 2nd or 3rd c on good team, but he can't be your top guy and you can't pay him like he is. and huberdeau is almost unplayable; that looks like maybe worst contract in league history. yikes!

And that pretty much summed up the Calgary Flames.

It’ll be interesting to see when it’s all over where the Leafs are since this is still basically Treliving’s team

Great play by Scandella, trailing Huberdeau on a breakaway, catching up and lifting his stick up, and poke-checking the puck out of danger, into the corner.

Soon after The Blues take a high-sticking penalty, so this kill will be crucial to keep the game tied and the chance to get at least a point from this road game.

Not much help tonight for our draft position, we are dangerously close to picking points in this game.... around the league the Wild won so they've got 47 points now... Montreal lost to Ottawa, and the Sabres losing to the Zegrasless Ducks 3-0 right now

Nobody stands out. Lindholm is solid but I think he's overrated because of what he did with Tkachuk and Gaudreau. They have a handful of decent to good, defensively responsible forwards but nobody that can create. They really needed to rebuild instead of trying to continue to compete with a very bland roster. Now they've got that awful albatross of a contract for Huberdeau and instead are looking at being a middling franchise for the foreseeable future.

yeah, leafs hiring him was inexplicable. did he offer to give shanny free boston pizza for life?
Lol, that or, more likely, agree to let Shanny make all final personnel choices which is honestly maybe less than Boston Pizza for life
