Went to bed last night with a nice sunny warm weekend in the forecast for next week. Woke up this morning and it's already switching to rain. In a couple days the warmer temps will have moved back down to near zero and a new Colorado Low will be on the way. Ha Ha, Hee hee, ho ho, wheeeee!!!!!

This has to be one of the coldest, crummiest Aprils on record. We haven't been within 5 degrees of a normal temp the entire month.

I always go there for Red River Valley weather info.
It’s gets up dated every 6 hours.

Thursday may be the warmest day, but that is a bit of a misnomer,
with highs only about 5 degrees below normal. After that, the 500mb
flow either turns zonal or southwest for the remainder of the long
term. Another decent weather system ejects out of the Rockies Friday
to Sunday. At this point, it is hard to tell if it will come out as
split northern/southern waves, a hybrid type low (west to east
track), or a Colorado Low. That means more cloudy, cool, and wet
weather. This is a long ways off yet, so will have to see what
happens with this over the next few days

This weather is BS. Been without power 12 hours with basements pumps dead, quite literally, in the water the entire time. Frickin wet snow is everywhere and drifting. Vehicles are not getting out. Trees, poles down.

On the plus side, if anyone wants to have a basement pool party, come on down

Although a ND forecast the gist of it often applies ( not always though )

An active pattern prevails across the area Thursday through next
Tuesday. Impacts are possible, and will depend upon the track of our
next several systems as they bring additional rain into the region.
Temperatures are expected to remain warm enough through the period
that accumulating snow is not expected; however, there is currently
a 30 to 50 percent chance that we could see one inch or more of rain
over the extended forecast period, especially west of the Red River.

Heading into Friday, another system moves out of the Pacific
Northwest and into the Northern Plains. This H5 low will bring us
our next chance of precipitation Friday through Sunday. Ensembles
have been relatively consistent in identifying this system over the
past couple days. The primary concern will be heavy rainfall, with
perhaps a slight chance that a brief rain/snow mix will occur during
the overnight periods. The current projected path brings the
heaviest QPF potential into central and eastern North Dakota, with
lesser amounts further east.
