I feel for BP because he really doesn't have a ton of options for OT. Our skill deficiency can be masked 5-on-5, but 3-on-3, it's really glaring. And the guys who are supposed to have skill haven't been getting it done, so there's not a lot he can do.

Having said that, the one thing he absolutely *can* do is keep Derek Ryan stapled to the bench in OT. There is literally no excuse.

I'd have tossed Wallmark out there for a shift, just for fun. I mean, can't be any worse than Staal-Pesce-Slavin, can it?

Did McGinn get a shift in OT?

Ah, who cares. We're just really not a very good team.

The guy who's the only reason we were in the situation to begin with? Maybe our ****** coach shouldn't put him out with pylons like Ryan and Hanifin in OT then.

Like I said, just watch the shift back and keep an eye on Skinner. You’ll see what I mean. There’s a reason that shift got so scrambly.

I care about results, not about who praises Francis' garbage acquisitions/signings at the time they were made. If GMs were judged based on that, Francis would be a HoF GM at this point.[/QUOT

im irritated with the team too... do I think we should make any rash trades to pick up maroon or ablicator or whatever the f*** his name is.... he’ll no... there’s nothing out there I’d do right now unless it was for JT... nothing out there I’d do that IMO wouldn’t look stupid in a year or two... we need a #1 canter and unfirtunatly a f***ing goalie

This team can not handle pressure. At all. It's the same thing every year and it's not a talent issue (although they severely lack talent). Nobody has the stones to go out there and DO it when it matters. They can butt stomp western conference teams when they pop one early but need a win against a division team and everybody gets butterflies. They need need need a veteran leader and Jordan Staal ain't ****ing cutting it. They went out and got who seemed like the perfect candidate in justin Williams and he's withered on the vine. It's pitiful.

Of course it's a talent issue. It's absurd to suggest otherwise at this point. With the talent they have, they have to be nearly perfect to win, especially when the bounces are going against them. It's unrealistic.

Ryan loses basically every one-on-one battle because he's 175lbs dripping wet and makes godawful plays with the puck in the defensive zone constantly. Peters shelters the hell out of him and he's still rocking a -17 or whatever, which is deserved and not because of bad luck. I don't give a **** about the 30-something points he's on pace for, he's a liability and shouldn't be in the NHL.

Your schtick works better when more than zero people strongly disagree (or at all) with you.

ryan sucks. i don't care if there's no one better, get rid of him.

I've got a letter from our General Manager stating otherwise.

Which is another thing to hang on Francis. If you set the expectation with the fans that the team will be in the playoffs, then you'd better be in the ****ing playoffs.
Well I never got that letter but I’ve lived through plenty of “promises” from this team...and I know I’m not a season ticket holder way out here in British Columbia, and I’ve seen you tear into those types before but I have been a fan for well over 25 years and I’ve seen pronger go when the team panicked (don’t want Hani gone)... I get it... it’s been a long time but this team is as close as it’s ever been to being competitive long term and I can see RFs vision... he’s made some bold moves that, once again, in hindsight haven’t worked out but I’m willing to let him fix it... does it piss me off to hear him say he still has faith in Darling, hell yes... do I believe him....HELL NO... but I don’t see what he can do midseason to fix it...and I do think it sucks as much as the next guy

are you talking about his split? groin of rubber, i say...

Was it when he got tripped and did a split and they never got the puck back?

I’m talking about him floating around, not marking anyone in particular as if he were playing 5-on-3 zone defense. Double-covering one guy, vaguely gesturing at another like he might be thinking about covering him.

Basically, creating a 2-on-3 while he wandered around like he had brain damage.

Oh that. That’s not new. Playing him with Ryan and Hanifin is asking to give up a goal.
