Lets hope it's a minor one. Good to get these out of the way now and hopefully gain a bit of rest; while Reimer is given a bit of room to run.

Even if he were able to play the next 2, I would still give the torch to Reimer and see what happens when we get back to Toronto.

Agree. It would give Reimer more confidence to go in the playoffs if we get a couple wins. A serious injury or a bad performance by Bernier in the playoffs could happen.

is 1 wk confirmed ?

He did let 2 goals in on 10 shots.
Maybe he was feeling ****** before the game ?

Randy said that he was having issue before the game started. Don't think the goals/shots make any difference. There was zero coverage on both goals that allowed Gaborik all alone at the side of the net while Bernier was playing the puck carrier and the second goal was blown coverage on Kopitar who was in prime real estate all by himself and he got a great shot off. Bernier also made a couple of big saves in the game as well and I'm guessing it may have been that stretch save on Kopitar with his right leg which may have aggregated the pre-existing discomfort.

On one hand we have video footage of Bernier flexing his leg 15 seconds after making the splits save on Kopitar.

On the other hand we have John Shannon saying it's probably the flu.

I'm going with the first one.

agreed. saw this video on tsn, and was bummed out thinking it might be a serious injury. hopefully its not and he only misses a few games or none at all.

They have not called up Drew Mac yet, so I am guessing it is definitely not serious at all. He could probably back up and get in if need be.

Kyper and Jeffler (Yes I know) both said that he'll get called up.

I would give Bernier a couple nights off, at least until the back-to-back games mid-week. Reimer can play Sunday and then Tuesday. By then, Bernier should be good to go for Wednesday.

Drew MacIntyre has been called up and was on the ice with the Leafs this afternoon. Bernier was absent from practise but remains with the team. Also Dion Phaneuf is missing today with a bad case of the flu

Damn, that flu is really getting around!! He's probably quarantined right now and will be a game time decision.

Good sign that he's travelling with the team. It only makes sense to call up a goalie. Hopefully we don't have to see him play in Bernier's absence (the guys need to take a page out of Gleason's book and knock over anyone that comes close to Reimer - don't wanna see another collision to the head like we did in LA).

He's faking an injury as a birthday present for James :sarcasm:

Hopefully everything is ok but the luxury of having two decent starters is that Reimer has carried us before. Hopefully he picks up his game and ups his trade value for the deadline. We all know he's capable of all star like stretches.

What deadline? The one that just past?

Howard Berger is going off on twitter that because the leafs won't let Bernier talk to the media, that it's a lot more serious than they are letting on.

On a related note, why they hell am I following Howard Berger on twitter?

If it was a lot more serious then wouldn't they have sent him straight to Toronto rather than keep him around on the road trip? Would they inconvenience the player and prevent him from getting the proper treatment from their specialists all for the sake of keeping up appearances?

People need to let go of the Reimer whiplash incident. The GM who was incessant about getting in front of microphone and shooting down concussion talk isn't here anymore. Besides, maybe Bernier doesn't want to talk to the media and so the Leafs won't allow access to him. Such a small thing to get incensed over and think there's some undercover story going on.

And another reason why I stopped checking out anything Berger had to read a long time ago. Of course it was relatively easy since he based his whole career on calling Leaf fans morons.

No matter the severity I don't think it's a big deal to keep him from the media. Kessel gets to dodge them all the time :). Whatever's bothering him, better let him take it easy than being asked questions that he wouldn't answer anyways.
