I can't imagine he is claimed. He is an AHL player who can't skate at this level and does not have any other attributes to compensate.

I'd be surprised if he is claimed.
And it could also explain why Hillis was sent to 3R earlier today. Because with Belzile coming to Laval, Hillis falls even lower in the forward depth chart. And the kid needs to play. ECHL is the best place for him right now.

Niku has also been removed from IR, and thus Habs are at a roster of 23. With Belzile coming off the main roster tomorrow (whether claimed or sent to Laval), it opens the roster spot for Hoffman.

With the luck we've had in previous years regarding injuries, I would be far from surprised to see him get a couple of games with us again this year.

he's been easily one of the best and most productive players for the Habs so far this season...
He sure didn't hurt the team with his play.
Belzile is a good story, happy he has played some NHL games but he is better served in Laval.
He got 5-6 days of NHL pay good for him, im sure he'll be back to play a couple of games games before the season is over

Komarov is on waivers too... He seems like a good 4th line crasher/banger,isn't it? Better than Paquette anyway.
Problem with Komarov is he's pretty much like his style of play, crashed and banged.
