Its like the Leafs believed everything that we read (about Barrie's game in Colorado). They couldn't have done their due diligence. I almost think they were punishing Naz for his suspensions.
The guy was worse than Holl this season. Some team is going to give him 5 million a year as defenceman are really over-valued right now.
He basically is a defenceman who is useless outside the offensive zone. I can see why the metrics are harsh on him. He's terrible in his own zone, doesn't battle, doesn't make smart decisions, has a short stick and doesn't cover a lot of space. He can't carry the puck through the neutral zone either, his puck-handling is pretty bad, so he's always a trailor. Once you get in the offensive zone, sure he's valuable. Good-great shot, good passer and explosive without the puck, but this team has plenty of guys great in the offensive zone. I know Dubas was desperate for a right shot defenceman in the top 4, but he couldn't have chosen a worse choice.
