Not really sure where all the Burish hate is coming from. He hasn't looked "horrible." Certainly better than Scott or Brown, plus is second among forwards in PK ice time. His Goals against per 60 when on the PK is below Pavs, Marleau and Thornton.
He hasn't been great but I the entire 4th line hasn't had a good game until IMO last night.
It's not really that hard to find out where it is coming from. Many knew it was a bad signing from day one and he has proven that to be true thus far. He's played much better this year than the past two that he was in for which isn't saying much. He's still not living up to his contract with how he's looked now. As for comparing him to Scott or Brown, those two have a very specific role on this team and generally fulfill that role when called upon. Burish does not. Looking at their GA/60 this season on the PK is a ridiculously small sample size and isn't apples to apples. Burish is a secondary killer. Marleau and Pavs are primary. Thornton barely sees PK time at all.
Burish is just overpaid and very replaceable. He's just very easy to dislike given his antics and hockey sense when he is on the ice. Given the current status of the team, it isn't nearly as important to get rid of him since they aren't using the cap space anyway but if he's in a young guy's way who is better than him then he should be one of the first to go...him or Kennedy.
