He's an average #4, better suited to being a 3rd pairing PP specialist. Using him in big minutes is a sign of a weak team.
Agreed

I guess we'll see how Nashville uses him. I am certain he will be playing at least 20 minutes a night and playing a significant role on the team.
I've got an idea for at least one "alternative" end-of-ATD-season award: the MVP.
No, not most valuable player, but rather most valuable pick...that is, the pick which most positively affects the fortunes of its ATD team. Like the Hart in the real NHL, I'd expect this award to be tilted towards players on good teams, but this would not be a requirement.
So, for example, last season Gordie Drillon might have won the ATD most valuable pick award. Just staying with past winners, in 2013 it might have been Georges Vezina or maybe even Sergei Kapustin. At any rate, I think this would be an interesting way to honor both clever moves by ATD GMs, and players who are not necessarily high round picks. We could vote on this at the same time as we vote on regular season standings, and post the results either before the playoffs begin or afterwards, if we don't want this vote to affect playoff voting.
I think it would also be fun to vote on "Best Division." Rank the 3 divisions that aren't your own. Would have to use averages instead of total points in case we don't get votes from everyone.
Enjoy.
Man, Henrik Sedin is on fire lately. If he adds another top 5 in assists and top 10 in points his resume is approaching sick levels.
Honestly would it change much if he added say a 3rd in assist this year?
It's better than not having the 3rd in assist, but in the grand scheme of things I'm not sure it would boost him that much in the ATD, for example.
It wouldn't boost him that much in the ATD, but just for an offensive resume in a vacuum - it's pretty sick when you're talking about 1, 1, 1, 3?, 4, 4, 6, 6 etc. for assists. I've got a funny feeling in 4 years he's close in on Adam Oates.
The Sedins have not had a regular career trajectory. If the Canucks can get a good pmd, the Sedins are in the Art Ross hunt next year.
They arent exciting, but they are effective. Very effective, except in transition. Theyve played two seasons with an above average puck moving defenceman, they have an Art Ross in each of those years. This is no coincidence. If they get another pmd, there is nothing stopping them from both being in the top five and possibly being more effective than tge other top ten scorers.
They just wont look good doing it.
Has overpass continued to add to his Adjusted Stats spreadsheet in recent years?? I have the 2011 edition, and would like a revised file if this is still a thing.
Let me know if any of you have access!
The replacement of coach sure has helped: the Sedins aren't asked to shot block any more.Is Clendenning maybe the reason for the recent success of the Sedins?
Enjoy.
Such a talented player, but mostly go with his top-2 favorite move years after years. I really feel after watching this video that I might have a shot at stopping Kane in breakaways ... Yea probably not!
