Bugg sent me a two man list for his pick. I pretty much just assumed he accepted the trade.

No.. but why would he send me a two name list for a pick at 351? My instinct is that he forgot to accept the trade, but I suppose we can annul it until he accepts the trade.

We'll wait for him to confirm. The last thing we need is a cluster **** because of a misunderstanding.

So what's the deal? As much as I want the draft to move along, I think Nalyd is the one who is technically on the clock until Bugg confirms the trade.

Bugg needs to confirm the trade, I guess, so yes, you're right, Nalyd is technically on the clock.

If you want, you can give me your list, and once Bugg comes in to confirm the trade he made with Nalyd, we can proceed.

The problem is that Bugg never confirmed the trade with Nalyd.

I can wait and see what happens. Are they eating up their time clock at all right now?

*btw, Seventies has my list anyway.

Wasn't he a forward in the NHA?

Nope. He was a forward in the ECAHA and ECHA (same league as the NHA, just before it restructured and changed its name) but dropped back to defense for two seasons before going west. This is confirmed by his bio in "The Trail" and as you can see, those two quotes from The Renfrew Millionares also support this. :)

Yes, jarek knows who you want too, and we'll be around all day. He's as good as yours, as soon as this business is sorted out. So if you have somewhere to be, you're free to go.

So, I guess those 2 retro Selkes from UH are meaningless

They didn't mean much to begin with, and we already knew he was a defensive super star.. :P But yeah, that is pretty ****ing hilarious.

LOL, it's actually 3 retro-Selkes: 1910 and 1911 NHA, and 1919 PCHA. I guess he was so much better than the defensive forwards that they simply gave it to him anyways.. :P

Yeah, what jarek said.

Wow, I was actually expecting to hear they were for the 1906-1909 seasons. Can't believe they messed that one up. I hated the retro selkes from the pre-merger days to begin with. A little disappointed in Ultimate Hockey for that.

If you look at the Wanderers rosters for those two seasons, with Johnson as a defenseman and knowing what we know of the other players positions and Trail bios, all positions are properly accounted for. He also went from hovering around 10th in league scoring, to the middle of the pack.

edit: The 1919 Selke actually makes some sense because Patrick used him as a rover that year which is much closer to a forward than a defenseman.

(oddly enough, he was still the All-Star defenseman so he must have split time, and for the record, that's not a season that I listed him as top-3 in the PCHA)

Ok, I'm actually trading down.

My 342(12th) and 439(15th) are going to Dreakmur for his for 347(12th) and 407(14th).

This should effect nothing for the ATD's running order, as Dreak is online, and given what I've seen in past ATD's, will be here when the clock runs out.

I'll be here for my pick too, but I haven't traded down far enough to run out my list.

“He ranked with the great forwards of the game, combining speed and poise, aggressiveness and finesse, with unsurpassed mechanical ability.†– Sam Green (sports writer)

“I've seen a lot of good ones, but none who had more stuff than George. He was in a class with Aurel Joliat, Jack Walker, Bun Cook or Harvey Jackson. He could do everything, that fellow. Besides, he was one of the easiest players to handle I ever had -- always in condition, always on the job, always willing to play any position. He never got into any trouble on the ice and was rarely sent to the penalty box. We've often said in the dressing room that when Hay kicks against a decision, the referee should be run out of the league.†– Undrafted Coach

With our 12th round selection, McGuire’s Monsters are very pleased to select a very well-rounded player to play on our second line. This man brings speed, scoring, playmaking, work ethic, and classy leadership. Please welcome…..
