God no. Stop wasting manthas talents, he isn't a net front guy.
This. Let that kid shoot the puck.

I should've used a sarcasm emoji.9 points against Carter Hart is still impressive. Hell, it's a higher PPG than Vilardi had in the entire playoffs.
If you watch him play closely you will see he is a beast in front of the net and down low. (Getzlaf type )God no. Stop wasting manthas talents, he isn't a net front guy.

That is why the coaching staff has him playing that position. When Mo is on his game is he is banging in pucks on the power play. I have no idea what your issue with it is.
Mantha is great as a shooter and a net front guy. If Rasmussen can replace his offense net front and it allows Mantha to play as shooter thats even better though. That means less time for a guy like Helm on the PP
I agree Mantha has a hell of a shot. I just don't see the coaching staff moving him away from net front. We seem to a two power play units that play equal time.
Another pro to Mo and Ras playing net front is their size and reach is extreamly useful in puck retrieval .
Can he be Blake Wheeler-esque on the wing? Wheeler is an absolute horse. Dude is fast, strong, excellent playmaker and along the boards and is a lean 6'5 220ish lbs was drafted as a C too
just to add, also a tremendous leader.... as a wings and jets fan, if Moose ends up with similar characteristics as Wheeler with 3/4's of the productivity that'd be a major boon for the teamI see this as a likely ceiling for him if he stays on wing. He went from pretty pedestrian production as a C to amazing production when allowed to play wing.
I’d say a cross between Hanzal (similar skating ability/puck protection/ back checking responsibleness) and Anders Lee (hands around the net, shot, strength advantage) in terms of offensive skills.
I think he’ll be a more goals than assist type of guy.
My genuine expectation of him: defensively responsible second line center/power play booster with 25-30 goal and 20 assist potential.
I’d say he’s faster than Mantha who has good top end speed when not floating.
Velenos your manLarkin, Martha, Rasmussen, Zadina, Bertuzzi, Schvechnikov, etc.
A skilled playmaker could fit well with this group
Larkin had nearly 50 assists without any pure scorers on his wings...Larkin, Martha, Rasmussen, Zadina, Bertuzzi, Schvechnikov, etc.

Let’s make 6’5” Mantha into a perimeter player god Blashill is so dumb

There's no doubt he's a great playmaker. Wasn't trying to say he wasn't.
I'm saying we have a good crop of forwards and could use another playmaker. An east-west type.
Good gravy, I love watching Zadina handle the puck.
There will never be another Datsyuk as far as I’m concerned, but he does a lot of cheeky/creative stuff like that.
I hope he can make Mickey laugh like this some day
He was the reason I fell in love with hockey and I'm sad to see that level of skill gone. I've never seen anyone with hands like his. There will never be another Datsyuk as far as I’m concerned
