Could it be the style that Montreal play that conflicts with how he wants to play? Montreal are built to play a very heavy big-bodied possession game, whereas Lehkonen might be more suited to a fast transition team.
I’d do Lehkonen for MurrayDevils may be looking to keep one of them, but I could see them being interested in taking a trial run at Lehkonen if they deal Ryan Murray or Kulikov.
Montreal likely doesn't do it for Kulikov, but for Murray could make some sense.
Hagg.
* hits like a boss
*+ 16 for his career
* is swedish, prolly turns red with embarssment when he plays so well for you, like the fish candy.
* you lack Sweden on your roster, we lack Finnish on ours
* wears the SAME number as Chiarot - perfect replacement
* might be related to THE Chef.
that's fine. Aside from this season, he hasn't been healthy in 8 years. He's made of glass - passLehkonen isn't returning Murray.
Sounds pretty fair to me. Murray the puck moving defencemen has 4 points in 20 games this year and was recently traded for the massive haul of a 5th round pickLehkonen isn't returning Murray.
Sounds like Brandon Montour is EXACTLY what you're looking for... Top-4 dman, RH shot, pending UFA - and he's available.
To
W Artturi Lehkonen ($2.4M RFA)
To
D Brandon Montour ($3.85M @ $1.5M retained = $2.35M UFA)
Lebrun says that Montreal are looking to move cap, presumably to make more moves at the deadline. With that in mind, would Lehkonen be available for like a 3rd or 4th round pick?
Unless Price is ok with going to Seattle he isn't waiving shit since there's a good chance they claim him. BC boy married to a Seattle girl so there's that angle plus he's got name recognition and Seattle will need to get to the cap floor. Similar situation to MAF in Vegas.Price will waive
We protect Allen.
Only viable player will be Byron or Chiarot, considering they won't take a 22yo #6th man who's 5'8 and hasn't played all year.

I find it odd that people just assume players will waive a clause that they negotiated and risk being claimed never mind the insult since it's basically we prefer Allen over you so please possibly prepare to uproot your whole life for a team that doesn't want you, not gonna happen.
Avs fans say the same thing about EJ since they will lose Toews. Plus the NHLPA frowns on shit like that since it undermines the control they hav
You really think SEA would claim Price and his contract? No chance they'd do that. MB will ask him to waive so, Price will accept cause he's a team player, and, worst case, if he gets pick, he just moves there where he spends all of hos summers witu his wife and fam...

No
Lehkonen is a player aren’t going to QO risking a crazy arbitration award in a flat cap world. Bennet of Calgary is in a similar place.
they aren’t giving up anything of value for him. He might be included in deals in place of retention but is not something of value in the trade
Yeah: Seattle would be shooting itself in the foot with five years left on that contract. Fleury worked because he had two years left at a lower cap hit percentage...You really think SEA would claim Price and his contract? No chance they'd do that. You got that very backwards. You really think SEA would claim Price and his contract? No chance they'd do that. MB will ask him to waive so, Prive will accept cause he's a team player, and, worst case, if he gets pick, he just moves there where he spends all of hos summers witu his wife and fam...

Bergy won't ask Price to waive out of respect. Despite what folks here think, Seattle would absolutely take Price and he would be the face of the franchise.
Seattle would absolutely take Price, just because I said so.
Price would clear waivers if he would be eligible for them. Nobody is touching that contract with a 100 foot pole. 90% signing bonuses contract(Means you basically can't buyout the contract) on a player that has been underperforming ever since signing said contract. He's pretty much second to Jeff Skinner on the most untradable contract in the NHL.
The thing is value is based on what other executives around the league think, not temperamental members on HF.Seattle would absolutely take Price, just because I said so.

It's a confidence issue, he clearly has the ability. Strikes me as the type pf guy who puts on ton of pressure on himself... I wouldn't trade him juste to trade him personally. If lehkonen wasn't from Finland there would be no finish in his game.
He has trouble hitting the net and if he does, it hits the goalie square in the chest.
Honestly they would be dumb not to. When you start fresh with no bad contract it's a no brainer to take Price even if he's overpaid by a few millions. On top of that he's only really overpaid in cap dollars not actual dollars by the time he'd be heading to Seattle anywayYou got that very backwards.

Depending on what the plus is . I wouldn't object. Fair proposal.Something around Graves for Lehkonen+ might make sense, particularly since Jacob MacDonald has looked really good as an AHL callup and only needs another 13 GP to meet the expansion eligibility criteria to give Colorado a Dman to expose. If it happened it would have to wait until Avs get some Dmen healthy though, as half of their top 6 is injured right now (i.e. Johnson, Makar, Byram, Timmins).
Fwiw there's been mutual interest in the past, as Bergevin was in Denver with his assistant GM at last years deadline to scout Graves, and Avs have liked Lehkonen for a while.
With their lack of bottom 6 production I'm not sure Lehkonen is what the Avs need right now though, especially given how important Graves is to the PK. Could see it being an offseason move if Lehkonen isn't asking for too much on his next contract.
