They have been shut out 12 times this season — a franchise record — scored one goal 13 times and two goals 15 times. Therrien used to say a team needs to score three goals to win in today’s NHL and the Canadiens have failed to do that in 40 of their 73 games, which helps explain their 26-35-12 record and why they will miss the playoffs. It also doesn’t help when you’re giving up an average of 3.10 goals per game.

They’ve been rough the last few weeks-the sort of limp into the playoffs.

I think they’ve overused their goalie and their defense isn’t quite good enough to protect him and he can’t quite cover them.

I think they will tighten up once playoffs begin.

I like it. I dislike Toronto more than Tampa.

Glad it wasn't a three point game. And Tampa only increased their goal differential by one.

Random thought: sure glad the Bruins colors aren't blue and white. That scheme is boring and overused. Doubly so trying to watch that game tonight.
