Kindl Makes 2.4Mil per season for 1 more year after this one.

How much should we retain on his salary to dump him?

Whats the max we should retain?
How much to retain for him to be considered "worth a shot?"

Depends of the price.

Richards earns this season buyout money (from Rangers) 3M + Red Wings deal 3M-3.75M = Total +6 millions.

Next season, his buyout money is 5M, so maybe he could take even less at 2M, but still make total 7M.

I think he won't return, but if he would, it could happen cheaper than now.

I think we have to retain 50% max in any possible deal and that won't be enough...

You really think Kindl 7 year Vet at the #6 position for 1.2Million is too much?

Yep.

There's nothing to sell on Jakub Kindl.

Good team won't need defensively bad players to ruin their Cup runs.

Bad teams won't need that salary either. If they want a bad player on their team to tank, just promote cheaper AHL plugs.

Why lose anything for that?

There's no market. Buyer missing.

For 2.4 mil I think the team should just hold him for a year as super-duper emergency depth and eat the contract, at least unless the mil or so in current-year space is the difference between making a huge signing, or not.

I don't think Richards will be back.

Damn, could have been a huge boost. And at just 5 years too. Seems those who were afraid of a broken down 37 year old Byfuglien weighing the team down with a bloated contract had nothing to fear. Another missed opportunity for Holland.:shakehead

Not sure if serious?

Anyways, there's no doubt in my mind he would have gotten 7 years @ +7.5M as a FA.

Is that a joke? Because you can't be serious. What missed opportunity, is there any sign Byfuglien wanted to leave Winnipeg or that Jets were selling him? :help:
