Ovechkin and panarin both have big problems with scating and puck handling, they're usualy touching the puck for a few second and then pass it to other guys, so that their partners would do all the job, it is kinda ridiculous

Neat to look at but there is a lot of subjective rearranging that could be done. Apps for example is in a weird spot imo.

Poor Makarov being rated a whole tier below Fetisov when he was likely the superior player. Clarke should obviously be in the fourth tier. By now I think he could be the most overrated player post WW2. Jagr belongs to Hasek tier. Crosby and Ovi are on the same tier imo. Peak wise Ovi could even be better,

This isn’t a career pyramid

Don’t agree with any of that but it’s not unreasonable. Fetisov was probably the best dman in the world for a stretch.

Panarin? He’s a magician with the puck.

Dude had no D behind him and a rookie goalie. I saw that team play several times - they were phenomenal on the rush but it was Crosby fixing things all over the ice. He did whatever was needed of him. They mocked his scoring so he popped 50. Sid could do anything, including adjust to a blistering pace and win Cups. And he had another great year last year at what is he now 36? Without much help on a poorly constructed team. Give him back those years stolen from him by cheap shots and injury and he’s even more ridiculous.

A rookie goalie who put up a 2.08GAA and .923 SV%

Literally everyone puts crosby over ovechkin lol come on your really surprised?

That isn't true at all.

The 90s one is sort of hard as alot of guys really fell off or just left all together.

Timeline sort of tough to nail down

What sticks out to me is the lack of impactful dmen when Orr entered the NHL. It wasn't until another 8 years that the modern Dman showed up in real numbers with
Potvin, Robinson and Salming appearing.

The size and skill of today's dman makes them look like an alien species compared to when Orr broke in. The biggest D-Men #4 rookie year were Jarrett and Marshall at 6:03.

You transport the players of 1966-67 to today and ramp them up with training and nutrition and they would still look in disbelief at these D-Men today.

Burns, Hedman, Hamilton, Myers there some big guys for sure, but Makar-Fox-Doughty-McAvoy-Toews-Letang, pretty similar to Orr 6 foot height.
