There was a backstage confrontation between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair following last night's Friday Night Smackdown taping in Wichita, Kansas, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.
We are told the issue arose after Charlotte Flair was said to have voiced concerns before WWE went on the air, concerned about the Championship Exchange segment that featured Becky trading her Smackdown Women's Championship belt for Flair's Raw Women's Championship belt.
We are told by several who were privy to the situation that Flair was voicing that she didn't want to look weak nor did she want her title reign to look weak during the segment. Despite those concerns, the segment went on as planned to close Smackdown.
During the Championship Exchange segment, there was a moment where Flair was to hand the belt to Becky but instead pulled it away and threw the belt on the mat, which was not the way that exchange was expected to go.
At that point, Sonya Deville demanded Flair retrieve the belt and hand it to her, which Flair did. Deville then asked for Becky's title but instead Lynch threw her title belt at Flair, which was also not part of the plan.
Flair picked up the Smackdown belt and did mic work to set up Sasha Banks coming out, which did put the segment back on track with Lynch leaving after teasing a potential Survivor Series showdown with Flair or Banks.
After Flair and Banks had their physical confrontation to close the FOX broadcast, Flair went to the back.
We are told at that point, there was a confrontation between Lynch and Flair over Flair allegedly disrespecting Lynch by "trying to make her look bad", as one source stated, during the segment and there were loud words between the two.
We are told that the situation was heated but did not get physical.

Some follow-up on the Becky Lynch-Charlotte Flair confrontation at last night's Smackdown taping, which we broke overnight:
- As we noted last night, Charlotte Flair had been arguing against being made to "look weak" in the segment and among those we've spoken with, she was seen as the person responsible for the segment not going as scripted.
- At no point was Flair to pull away the Raw Women's Championship belt from Becky Lynch. We are told that was not rehearsed or even suggested to the talents. When Flair pulled the title away, the belief among those backstage we have spoken with is that it was done to make Lynch look stupid by being "one upped" and having to pick up the belt. Sonya Deville instead made Flair get the belt and hand it to Deville, leading to Lynch throwing the Smackdown Women's title belt at Flair, which wasn't supposed to happen either.
- The backstage argument after the segment took place in the gorilla position.
- There is heat on Flair in certain circles for disrespecting Lynch and some who felt Flair took a segment that was supposed to build herself vs. Sasha Banks and instead putting all the attention back on herself and Lynch when Banks was being placed in a position to be the top babyface for the Smackdown brand. There are some who felt this undermined Banks, whether that was a planned strategy or not.
- There is no heat on Lynch as it was seen as she was pushed to a boiling point, leading to her confronting Flair. Had it gotten physical, it may have been seen different but after, it was seen within the locker room as Lynch standing her ground and protecting herself after being pushed too far.
- On the Flair side, we are told that she was very upset coming out of the situation. There are some who wondered if Andrade el Idolo's "FU WWE" Tweet was in relation to the Flair-Lynch situation, not his match on AEW Dynamite, given it was sent out within an hour of when the confrontation would have gone down in Wichita.
- As for those who asked whether Flair was using this as a way to get out of her WWE deal and go to AEW, that's likely not the outcome here. We are told Flair has years left on her current deal. It's not likely WWE is going to let anyone walk out to head to TNT if they deem them an important asset.

It seems like Charlotte is the only one who ever has a problem with the script, which is funny, because she is the one who most fits well with the script, but beyond that she while she was trying to go into business for herself, she was also trying to make a shitty segment be not shitty.

Basically Charlotte is probably getting really bad advice from Andrade who has an ace to grind, and wants to see Charlotte fired and move to AEW. But AEW has enough talented woman and don't need her.
I think Charlotte is extremely talented, but really, if she moved on it would probably make the Womans division in WWE more interesting.

If the WWE made an effort to build up a few others, they could afford to lose Charlotte. That said, they give a shit about 4 females, the rest they probably don't even know they exist.

I don't get all the personal hate for Charlotte, she's an asshole, she doesn't get along well with others... who cares, none of the people on here have to work with her, and it isn't her job to be pals and chummy with every one. She is a top tier sports entertainer, and is better at her job than 90% of the others in her field.
None of us know if our favorite actors, or musicians, or athletes are great people in real life or not and what difference does it make? Everybody hates Barry Bonds and says how he is just a jerk and a dick to everyone, well, I had a co-worker who met him multiple times, and he was always nice to her and her kids and grandkids, so she thought he was a great guy, was she wrong? Was everybody who thinks he is an A-hole wrong? What does it matter, you watch them to wrestle and perform in matches and skits, not to be your neighbor, or teach your kids school, or bag your groceries.

The talk of the weekend was the Charlotte Flair-Becky Lynch confrontation that went down after their segment on FOX's Friday Night Smackdown this past Friday.
As PWInsider.com first reported early Saturday morning, the heated back and forth between the two took place after Flair, in an unscripted moment, pulled the Raw Women's Championship away from Lynch and dropped it, with the belief being that it was done to make Lynch look stupid and "one up her." Sonya Deville demanded Flair pick the belt up, which Flair did before handing it to Deville.
The Lynch confrontation took place in the gorilla position in full view of Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, among others and received the lion's share of attention initially, but Lynch was not the only person upset with Flair. Two different sources described Sonya Deville as "mad enough to want to fight Flair" and at one point, also having an argument with Flair backstage at Smackdown.
The Lynch argument was said to have been loud and angry with Lynch described as standing up for herself after being "disrespected."
Thus far, the blame for the situation has fallen on Charlotte Flair, with several claiming that the situation started after Flair made it clear she felt the segment made her and her championship reign look weak. There have been several alleged instances where Flair's behavior has led to issues in recent months, including a legitimate back and forth with Nia Jax in the ring on Raw.
The criticism on Flair has been that she's been self-indulgent towards protecting herself and making sure that all attention is on her, but one source not close to Flair said, "Let's be honest, that's what stars do. They make sure their star power remains the same or greater." Another source noted that the resentment towards Flair has been building in recent weeks and it was "just a matter of time" before something happened.
Flair was escorted out of the building by WWE officials, which some close to her pointed to as a "sign of disrespect" in itself, given her family's history with the company and her importance to the Smackdown brand going forward. One talent who was in the building, but did not see the argument, felt the company did the right thing as it was just WWE's way to defusing the situation in the moment.

Since Flair and Lynch are now on separate brands and a UK tour keeping the brands separated for a good part of next month, they would likely not be crossing paths until WWE storylines call for that for Survivor Series storylines. There are a number of people within WWE keeping their eyes on Flair to see what will happen with her and how she will handle herself when she heads to Friday's Smackdown taping in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Who cares if they are nice, or mean, or assholes. They are pro wrestlers, none of them are going to be nominated for sainthood, she is a good performer, and that is what she is there for
I am neither a fan or not of Charlotte, I just don't understand how someone can be so bothered by what they perceive about someone that is completely meaningless in the grand scheme of what that person does

I don't like Charlotte because she's overpushed and I can't stand her promos or her mannerisms (why does she cry mid match?) but I don't know anything about what she's like behind the scenes.

1. I see her no selling opponents promos, she completely makes them look insignificant. She will smile/mutter under her breath as her opponent is cutting the
2. I see her sandbag her opponents offence, especially tosses/suplexes, it's like she goes completely wet noodle.
3. She's unprofessional. She concussed Kairi in a match, and then immediately whacked her in the head because she was pissed off.
4. Rhea Ripley, she completely halted her momentum and she still hasn't recovered.
5. Shayna Baszler and the Rumble. There were rumours that she didn't want to be eliminated by Shayna.
