Wally -- gotta say you are seriously cramping my style here man.

You are asking to drive my 12 cylinder 620+ HP McLaren F1 at the speed limit. You are asking Mozart to construct beautiful sonnets using a Kazoo. You are asking Cam Neely to play with the passion of Jimmy Hayes. At the trade deadline no less!!

How am I going to convey my contempt to Leafs fans who criticize any deals we do or don't do without the use of the asterisk???

I am angry. I'm like tornado of anger, swirling about.

what can I say? I'm a f***ing asshole.

Billy Jaffe on SiriusXM thinks the Bruins are going hard after Kreider. Lots of connections there.
It only works if Kreider demands to be traded to the Bruins
otherwise wont entertain signing an extension

knowing how greedy the Rangers gm is, he is probably asking for a package that includes Debrusk and Lauzon

or Kulman, Bjork, Lauzon and/or 1st

Keep thinking about some of the secondary moves Bruins might make to bolster the bottom 6...Marcus Foligno would be perfect for the third line. Goodrow would be perfect for the fourth line.

I saw a report that Guerin views Foligno as a leader/captain material but I hope Sweeney makes a strong offer.

Foligno-Coyle-Bjork
Goodrow-Kuraly-Wagner

with Palmieri/Kreider added to the top 6 that is a tough lineup. Goodrow and Kuraly makes your fourth line very strong.

Russ Cohen on NHL XM said he thinks Kreider could get a 1st, a 3rd (turns into a conditional 2nd) and an A prospect or a lower roster player with term. He was just spitballing.

That's basically the Kevin Hayes deal from last year. 1st round pick, conditional 4th, and Brendan Lemieux.

“upper tier offensive vision”
“Knows how to score goals”

yet he has an almost identical points per game in his career to heinen and a lower career shooting percentage. He just takes a lot more shots.

also Kase has the same amount of goals this year as heinen in 50 more minutes played on the season.

also heinen is a much better defensive forward.

This year, and on a much worse team. Kase is having a down year. Is he better than Heinen when on the ice? For what this team needs, yes. Health issues have hampered his development and it should be a red flag. But the kid is super skilled.

That's not bad at all, especially if you feel you have a better than good chance of re-signing him. We like to hope that'd be the case since he's from the area and played college hockey here as well. We won't know til it gets to that point though.

I wouldn't mind something at the bottom of the lineup. St Louis had a big edge on the Bruins on the 4th line.

Okay, I'm bored and I'll try based on rumours and prices:

To Boston:

LW Kreider

To New York:

2020 1st
RW Heinen
LHD Zboril

To Boston:

RW Kovalchuk

To Montreal:

2020 Conditional 3rd (becomes 2021 2nd if Boston advances to SCF)

To Boston:

C Thornton

To San Jose:

RW Backes
2020 2nd
C Beecher

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak (Perfection Line)
Kreider - Krejci - Kovalchuk (Special K Line)
DeBrusk - Coyle - Bjork (CBD/Chill Line)
Kuraly - Thornton - Wagner

Cap works. Prices work. Prospects and picks out with Heinen.

I only want right handed right wingers unless ones named Kreider, would like Anderson but not as the main piece of the deadline so if the cost is right swing for the fence Don.

Rangers Trade:

1st, NHL forward who drops into Kreider's spot and a prospect.

Montreal Trade:

3rd and they have to cheer for the Bruins until they make the finals.

San Jose Trade:

Jumbo Joe gets one more shot, Backes is taken off the cap for a 1st (Beecher) and a 2nd.

I don't mind trade # 1 but I don't like trade # 2 and absolutely hate trade # 3. Sweeney would be a fool to trade Beecher just to add Thornton and to get rid of Backes's contract. :thumbd:
