Okay folks, let's try this again. The last thread had to be closed due to numerous libelous posts speculating on a recent domestic incident so let's stay away from that here.

Do not speculate on the Galchenyuk domestic situation and keep things civil. We're going to be monitoring this thread more closely than usual as things have gotten a little out of hand lately.

If you want to discuss how the Habs have handled the Galchenyuk situation, that's all good. But leave out speculation and talk about the incident itself. We've had too many libelous posts and we have to just cut it dead in it's tracks. Just leave the talk about the incident itself and what might/might not have happened alone. Hopefully this thread can go back to being about actual hockey...

Thanks for your co-operation!

Wonder how long before he gets frustrated enough to want out?

Would not blame GM in the least. Does & has done everything team asks of him, plays well, can't earn his minutes under this coach.

Nail Yakapov scores in his first game back into the Edmonton lineup.
Do you think he might reignite some offensive chemistry with Chucky?

If Therrien is still here next year, Galchenyuk never signs with us long term.

And I wouldn't blame him. He's got great numbers, despite being underused.

I wish we had a GM with enough guts to find out...

Galch seems more destined to follow in koivu's footsteps... All sorts of talent squandered b/c team doesn't see the value in finding him a strong complimentary winger (one he doesn't have to carry)

Chucky now off C and playing on Desharnais' wing? Ha! For his own sake he should leave Montreal when he gets the chance. Therrien's team is a dead end of lowbrow bigotry.

He would be justified in requesting a trade.

Wouldn't blame him. Would have zero hard feelings. Would completely understand.

Not a big shocker that they are moving to wing, at least for now...

Since December 1st:

Galchenyuk 19 GP 3-6-9 -11

That's an awful stat BEFORE you look at zone starts where he is at 63% for the season.

Caps new GM also managed to add Williams, Oshie, Orpik, Niskanen in the span of 2-3 seasons. Not the same as Seguin, Spezza, Sharp, but still something.

He gave up Brouwer for Oshie...6 of one vs half dozen of another

Orpik and Niskanen were signed to terrible contracts.

Orpik at 5 years 27.5 mil...already a terrible deal
Niskanen 7 years at 10.25 mil

The caps are winning mostly from the guys they drafted and developed...Ovechkin Holtby Backstrom Kuznetsov Carlson Alzner Johansson.

How does that compare to DD's stats....

Yup... And I will enjoy watching him thrive in a good situation. Kid has been a great pro, showing tons of maturity & professionalism despite a crummy situation. Deserves a chance to thrive and has all the tools to be a star.

Since December 1st:

Desharnais - 19 gp 1-4-5 -4 ......??????

A .5 PPG pace for a third liner puts him in good company. Maybe like MacArthur or Ladd, but those two guys have out done da wittle Davey easy....

Oh, he plays with Eller and Carr, not a fertile environment.
