They're in an ideal spot. Carolina has really cooled off and the Rangers are certainly beatable.

To fall to WC2, both the Pens and Caps would need to pass them. One more win probably locks up WC2. It would be nice to rest some guys in the last regular season game.

It was a valid concern, especially with a new coach, a new system, and major pieces not ready to play.

The bumps will come but now they have a cushion that none of us expected.
