Yeah, just say no to Hemsky, please. Do not need finesse wingers. Not even a little bit.

Don't we have enough of *that* type of player?

Centers and defenseman only. Preferably that are agitators.

Nothing else need apply.

this team needs a fundamental shake up. that means getting rid of the players I don't like. no offense but if they bought out laich and trade brouwer and Johansson, that would not be a shake up of any fundamental way. none of the players are foundation of the team. in each case they are garnish to the entre. moving those three would be almost standard roster turnover.

fundamental means moving primary roster players. ovechkin, backstrom, Carlson, alzner, green.

Sound alright at first, but realistically how high do you have to offer sheet him at so Colorado walks away?

No punishment for trying.... Offer him 7 years/42m, its 50k below the threshold for 4 1st round picks.

Also you gotta love how the hires of Sakic and Roy has made Avalanche fans think every move is smart.

Finesse wingers? We've got 2 finesse wingers right now and one of them is in every trade proposal. For a top 6 player, he'd be a perfect substitute for Laich.

Who is a finesse winger on this team? Kuznetsov? Johansson is but he should be playing center and he's being jettisoned in every trade proposal anyway. Brouwer, Chimera, Ward, Wilson, Ovechkin, Laich, Fehr, and whoever is playing on the 4th line are the antithesis of finesse wingers. Hemsky was dynamite with Ottawa, especially on the PP. It'd sure be nice if we could have 2 great PP lines. Hemsky allows some flexibility in the top 6 and a scoring touch that we lack right now.

Add some snarl to the blueline and add an agitator for the 4th line. Also, what centers are available that are agitators but still great 2-way players?

We have the cap space to add talent, especially if Laich is bought out. We should make the team better if we can, and especially if it doesn't cost us any assets.

Id rather take a run at Ryan O'Riley with Green as the bait.

Could do a package. Green/Mojo/Whatever for PA and ROR.

Sign Niskanen and someone...see what happens.

Edit: Or are they moving PA to keep ROR?

That deal is brutal for Colorado.

I'm not a huge Parenteau fan but he's be an OK addition depending on the price. I was never too impressed with him on the Avs.

I'd be all over Ryan O'Reilly if he's available. Take anyone but Backstrom or Carlson.

MacLellan highlights:

- No plan to use the final compliance buyout
- Want to help Green find his game
- Could be aggressive in landing a defenseman
- A couple UFA targets to a certain point, hope to get 1 or 2
- Talking with Grabo but the money needs to be right
- Want a vet back-up goalie so Grubauer plays a lot in Hershey

that looks like something straight out of the McPhee pre presser media advisers meeting. They could go the opposite direction on all six.

No plan means that after they do it, they can point to a change in circumstances.
Helping him find his game doesn't mean that they don't decide its best to move him
Being aggressive doesn't mean they are successful.
Same answer as above
If the money is not right, Grabo goes.

interesting though

circumstances. like? coach tells defenseman who's best own zone play is to skate the puck out of the zone not to skate with the puck at all. you mean like that?

LOL

Not sure but IMHO, even when Green tries to skate out of his own zone its always so risky. Its stuff I try to do in NHL14 on the xbox...not stuff I would try to do in a game that matters. Every time he touches the puck nowadays I cringe and pray he doesnt do a dispy-do and turn it over...he rarely makes the easy outlet pass out of the d zone.
