Proposal: A 1st and a 2nd for Matthew Knies and a 3rd in order to flip picks for help on D and PK.

HFBOARDSTERS are lining up to click their favorite emoji. I fail to see what is so funny here. You would rather humiliate someone then discuss a hockey trade?

People are only seeing Knies' stat line and not his overall trajectory. No one would laugh at this last season when he stepped on the ice right into a playoff series. Right now he's getting a feel for the marathon of a regular season Pro team. Not the sprint of the short college season.

Last year you had Knies all figured out. This year you have Knies figured out because he's not scoring at a point per game pace. Luckily GMs and pro scouts don't **** and chuck prospects/young players like some of the cynical people in Hockey forums.

Knies isn't being trading. His ELC is way too beneficial for the Leafs.

This would make more sense if you said Bertuzzi, he's way more likely to be traded -- but still likely isn't considering Toronto isn't selling off players.
As beneficial as a defenseman? This trade is not done in a vacuum.

Interesting idea for Arizona to get some hometown talent on the roster. First Knies and then they sign Matthews as a UFA.

OP overvaluing Knies, considering his most common line mates this year have been Matthew’s, Nylander and Matthew’s, Marner according to money puck.

You think Knies is a comparable to Bracco?

LMAO.
I believe the poster was referring to the hype fans had for Bracco.

Regarding the trade, Toronto could flip Knies for a solid d-man, but would have to add something, imo, as substantial as Knies. Personally, I'd just keep him as he's developing into a versatile winger.

Marner, 2nd for Tanev, Hanifin and Kadri

well my bad but still, Knies was hyped about a lot by Leafs fans during and after the play-offs last year, haven't done much this season though, not much production and what ive read
about him from the Leafs boards, his game hasn't been that great either (how he has played).
some wants him sent to the AHL

He’s going to keep improving, until the Leafs eventually can’t sign him. Like Hyman

We arent this year is pray for a miracle playoff run

Its big 4 or bust. Very likely bust

We need cowan + minten to be contributers right away next year

Tavares next year final year then we can fix up the teams depth issues ideally

Sucks but thats life as a leaf fan for now
shitty thing is the raises to matthews and nylander are gonna cost us an extra $6.1m per year, with Tavares coming off the books after next year, that basically only gives us $5m. and that's before re-signing Marner and even potentially Tavares to a smaller deal. were just gonna keep going around in circles!

*Something or someone costs what a buyer is willing to give them. In this case do any teams need young talent to play in their top 6? So many teams do. So many teams don't even find that in the draft.

*another great example is the Apple Watch lol.
