A relic from the Heatley era, been a trooper for us all these years. I remember the days when he still had the knees to blow past the defensemen on the outside.

Waived his NTC for us too :handclap::handclap::handclap:

Going to suck to see him in a Leafs jersey. Hopefully he is traded to another team by the trade deadline.

He scored 35 with Spezza. That was certainly something.

Ok I'm done.

Other than Neil I think he was our longest tenured player.
Always was a class act and a real professional. He was a good influence on the team

Good guy, hurt by injuries. At least when he was in the lineup these past few seasons he pushed bad players down the lineup.

Is it just me or are we trading away basically all of our Euro guys lately?

Only Karl and Mika remain.

Injuries slowed him down. The lack of a star center when Spezza left hurt.

But he always worked hard and gave everything.

Didn't get nearly the amount of respect that he deserved. Always did so many little things in a game that added up, but no one appreciated.

Best of luck, Milo.

... I'd be more broken up about your departure if it wasn't directly responsible for helping fill the biggest home on our team by bringing in a legit 22min LD.

I had all the time in the world for Milan Michalek. Guy has lost a step the past little while but there was a time he was a good hand for the team.

My favourite memory of him is in game 4 of the Rangers series. He came in on a 2 on 1 with Matt Carkner (who just came out of the box and got the puck after a heads up play by Spezza) and absolutely roofed a backhand far-side by Lundqvist to cut the lead to 2-1. It was a huge goal. There was no room at all but Michalek found a way.

Pretty much my thoughts. He always did what he could. Michalek is still useful but not what he was due to injuries.

He came to Ottawa and worked hard when I'm sure others in position might have sulked.

:handclap: Good guy & good two way player, did everything that was asked of him but was getting older & injury prone, the timing was probably right. We appreciate his contributions to this team in his time here. :handclap:

Best of luck to him, and hope he can stay healthy for the leafs (or whoever they trade him to at the deadline).
