There's going to be one thing, and one thing only IMO, that determines if we can keep this up: the Rico-Cammy-Stemps line. The real X factor being Henrique. Is this another hot streak for Rico which we've seen time and time again, or is this him turning a corner in his career?

It's hard to be a good team in this league with one line scoring and sooner or later they'll go through a cold streak.

Agreed. And I should've clarified, not keep this is up as in this insane winning streak. I meant keeping us out of the bottom 5. This is still not a playoff team no matter the hot streak that line is on, but if they can remain somewhat consistent throughout the year we'll be much closer to a playoff spot than bottom of the league.

At first I thought it was a noob, then I saw how many posts he had so I was like "is he a rival fan from another board?". Then I clicked on his name to see what team he's a fan of and LO AND BEHOLD..."Old Username : JimEIV".

I had so much fun trashing Buffalo last night, and their LOSER franchise and slobbering frog sounding buffoon play by play voice.

I do apologize if anyone reading the thread took offense to my trashing of the city of Buffalo or anything to do with the area.

I'm not sorry for ripping their franchise or hating their franchise the way I do.

Henrique always seems to troll the Sabres. I remember him chirping at Miller after we lost that shootout, then that altercation where he was laughing in Steve Ott's face after Bernier scored that OT winner.

Dude is playing his ass off but he's shooting 30%. Devils really need Zajac, Tlusty and JJ to start producing at ES or else we're screwed when the top line goes cold

How many times have we said this in the past and Travis ends up being "underwhelming"?

He's a very good 2-way player but let's face facts : He played extremely well when he had guys like Mr. MoneyBags and The Quitter on his line.

Yup, also needs the bottom six to chip in some timely goals.

Zajac ironically had his best game when the top line didn't do anything. I didn't watch Saturdays game but Zajac looked like a different player in the 3 point game and the one after it.

FMASC, what do the stats say about Zajac possession wise?

Not good. Devils are getting 50.3% of shot attempts at ES as a team. With Zajac, 43.5%

That's why Kalinin's play on the game tying goal by Cammalleri in the 2d period was so encouraging. Kalinin created that chance.

As to Zajac, he had his hands full with Evander Kane and his line in Buffalo. Larsen also was mostlly on the ice for Kane. What a physical battle until Kane went down with the leg.

We need to keep an eye on defensive zone starts.

http://stats.hockeyanalysis.com/rat...eamid=18&type=fenwick&sort=DZPCT&sortdir=DESC

Zajac is leading Devils forwards by starting 43.2% of shifts in the defensive end.

On the other end of the spectrum, Henrique is only starting 21.6% of his shifts in the defensive zone.

It's becoming apparent that Hynes likes to employ his shutdown guys in heavy defensive roles and his offensive guys in offensive roles. So that will skew possession stats.
