The good: Stafford, Nico, Zacha at times, Santini, Butcher, Gibbons, Coleman quietly had himself a good game as well.
The meh: Mueller, Greene, Cory.
The ugly: Severson. Easily his ugliest game of the season, and will stand out as one his worst in my mind. WOOOOOF.

I think Santini played extremely well.

If Santini keeps playing like this and getting better I want no part of Carlson this summer. Save that money for when the young guys need contracts because a Severson/Santini/Butcher right side looks pretty good. Shero can make a LHD his signature summer trade and we are on our way.

If a Carlson type player agrees to come to your team for a reasonable contract, then you make room for him and then you have an expendable asset to trade to improve another part of the team.

Really like Nico with Hall. Like the line combos. The big difference this year is we are just generating so many chances. Good solid gold chances. We could easily have had 8 goals in regulation.

But have given up maybe that many too.

But I'm good with that. Scoring is the name of the game in today's NHL. If this continues . . . big IF . . . but if it continues we will stay in the playoff hunt.

With the emergence of Butcher & Santini our defence is at least serviceable, both play with an incredible amount of poise and intelligence, far beyond their years.

The bottom pairing will likely continue to be a bit of a dumpster fire; Lovejoy, Prout, Moore & Mueller all have very noticeable weaknesses.

Mueller is just very green, but he seems to possess all of the physical tools necessary to succeed. Hopefully as he gains some more experience he'll begin to look a little less shaky.

Moore is probably the lesser of the other three evils, at least he can skate and fits with our uptempo style of play. If Butcher usurps some of his 5v5 minutes then hopefully Moore's mental mistakes will be less prevalent.

Looked and sounded more full than that on TV. Ohh well

12-13k energized fans can get really loud.

Lower level has been filling up for games but the 200 level has been sparse vs Wash and TB due to high ticket pricing for those upper level seats plus the absolute failure by Group Sales to book any orders.

Santini really played like a top pairing defenseman tonight.

Hall was buzzing, Palmieri is like a ninja how he seemingly comes out of nowhere to get great chances. Nico was all over the ice and could have easily had 6 points.

Henrique has very quietly had a very trong start to the season. He's not a 2nd line center, he plays better with less pressure. Our depth has let him slot into a more favorable role.

I appreciate Zacha standing up for Gibbons but he's got to be a lot smarter there. Two minutes left in the game. Obviously they should have called a penalty on the TBL guy too, but Zacha has to know retaliation is ALWAYS called.

Yes, I know, you're like that guy at The Rock during the Caps game the other night who got to play the 3-card monty Hide the puck game on the scoreboard.

About 10,000 people are all loudly yelling at him, " IT'S UNDER NUMBER THREE!!!!!!" and he shook his head and choses #1 because he knew better.

It was under #3.

LOL! Last season I don't remember anyone losing and it was much harder. Besides the shuffling, the coins would also get stacked and shuffled again. This season so far, they shuffle for about 5 seconds. How the dufus lost the other night is beyond me except for what you say - he knew better.

LOL at people thinking Hall has been bad. Guy has been FLYING every game, has 5 pts in 6 games and is averaging over 3 shots a game. His defensive game has also stepped up a notch.

Greene blew the kucherov goal

He turned the puck over and was slow to pickup his man.

Moore and Hischier had terrible coverage on the second goal on the PK. But having Moore, Mueller and Hischier out on PK was just poor personell management in my opinion.

3rd goal against Severson had the puck carrier and Greene was slow to pick up the shooter.

4th goal against Severson didn't take care of the puck and lost it behind the net. No other Defenseman or center was in sight covering the front.

Watch the reply. None of those goals were Severson's fault. Aside from possibly the weak play behind his own net, but even then there was absolutely no coverage in front.

Hynes has got to use Jesper Bratt in the SO in the future. The kid is a SO specialist and completely unafraid. He even won a national SO competition in Sweden a couple of years ago.

We even have Nico, a top talent with great breakaway talents.

welcome back ;)

I Have to agree

Bratt

We haven't seen any of those face-off violations that they were calling in the preseason, but if the league is cutting down on cheating in the face-off circle, it should go a long way in helping finesse players like Nico be more effective at them.

Plenty of guys are getting tossed initially. Makes the second one in have to be more aware than in the past. But for sure, the creeping inside the circle has been relaxed.
