The upside on Lawson Crouse is Scott Hartnell.

Not my forum, but I don't think that's right at all. While they share some similarities, Hartnell was and remains a very poor skater, with all the other limits that brings.

Andrew Ladd is a better comparison, I think.

Very much agree with this. Crouse being a Ladd-lite sounds about right to me.

Why do you say "lite"? I'm not disagreeing (as I frankly don't know), just wondering what the rationale is for saying he'll be a lesser version of Ladd?

He is as good or better skater than Ladd, more agile imo. I think Crouse has better hands and offensive sense than Ladd did, but they are at least equal. Ladd lite seems to be a continuation of the undervaluing of Crouse. He's at least as good as Ladd was at this point.

Bertuzzi makes more sense than Ladd in comparison. Will he score like Bertuzzi? Who knows?

This might get buried or deleted but I was told by someone very close to Marner that of all the teams within range Carolina had spoken most with Marners agent. I know it's not saying much since the players and teams are not yet allowed to talk but definitely means they're interested.
