The goalies should be Bjarnason and Ratzlaff. Defense Korchinski, Mateychuk, Dragicevic, Pickering, Luneau, Nelson and Price. Forwards Savoie, Geekie, Yager, Heidt, Danielson, Cristall, Ziemmer, Wood, Benson, Beck, Minten, Ritchie, Barlow but HC loves 19 yr olds so who knows

Calm down, Bolduc isn’t even eligible for 2024

The poster has an obvious agenda...and I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt that he/she just took this thread for the 2024 team as the thread for this year's team. I'm all for starting threads on future Team Canada rosters, but in January 6 when the 2023 tournament is in the books seems to me to be plenty of time.

Will be weaker than this year
It does look weaker, but you still need to factor in another year of development for all these players. Someone will probably come out of the woodwork as well. A year ago I had no idea who Adam Fantilli was. 12 months from now we’ll probably say this team is stacked.

I don’t think there will be an obvious star, but goaltending should be slightly better, Defense slightly regressed, and less star power in the top 6

Who knows? Maybe Wright is still not a full time NHLer this time next year and Seattle sends him for another tournament. Would be nice. Fantilli should be a returnee next year as well. It would be a mistake for him to be a one and done college player.

I agree about Fantilli. I think he will be back. The college kids usually always back

By next year I'd probably pick my team from the following:

Zach Benson - Connor Geekie - Matthew Savoie
Andrew Cristall - Brayden Yager - Ethan Gauthier
Colby Barlow - Calum Ritchie - Matthew Wood
Riley Heidt - Nate Danielson - Koehn Ziemmer
Samuel Savoie - Fraser Minton - Jordan Dumais
Kalan Lind - Carson Rehkopf - Mathieu Cataford

Denton Mateychuk - Tristan Luneau
Owen Pickering - Ty Nelson
Etienne Morin - Maveric Lamoureux
Caden Price - Lukas Dragicevic
Isaiah George - Oliver Bonk

Don't have Bedard, Fantilli, Wright and Korchinski due to NHL duties.

Jordan Gustafson Paul Ludwinski, Jagger Firkus, Owen Beck, David Goyette, Hunter Haight, Mathew Poitras, Rieger Lorenz, Jayden Perron, and Josh Filmon also considered for forward spots.

Cam Allen, Noah Warren, Dylan MacKinnon, Sage Weinstein also in consideration for defense.

Too early to predict goalies.

No locks for this team as of yet.

Misa probably gets a camp invite if he keeps his play up like it’s been this year not sure he makes the team though.

There’s absolutely no way you didn’t put Benson on this roster (unless you think he’ll be in the nhl I guess ;))

He’s already the best player on the ICE (yes objectively better than Savoie and Geekie) and he’s been the driver on his line with Savoie all season.

Considering what he's doing at 15, I would say he's well on pace to be the next Canadian 16 year old phenom to make the team.

Hoping for an early Saginaw PO exit and Misa gets some U18 reps in. would be nice to get some apples to apples comps to the other exceptionals who played U18 at 15/16. He can make his case for a camp invite to next year's U20 tournament there.

As is tradition with TC - they prefer to go with 19 year olds.

One thing about Benson I like is his ability to play different roles and not just a scoring role - that’ll help his chances.

I was thinking Hlinka/Gretzky at the start of next year, but maybe he will make this year’s U18 if it all works out.
