It should really just be called the 2023-2024 WJC, since that’s literally what it is. Just like we’re in the 2023-2024 NHL season

I'm curious as to why - don't they begin the day after Christmas, in 2023? It seems just as accurate to call them the 2023 World Juniors as 2024.
It's just the way they have always done it. The medals get awarded in 2024, so for future purposes, it's probably easiest to refer back to it as the 2024 tournament.

Somebody in Ducks org must have made a deal with the devil for those finals/cup years. Between injuries and refs, it’s absurd
