I think between how deep the draft is, and the ever so slightly wonky nature of just a few picks you're seeing teams with lists of 3-4 hopeful prospects and they are all dropping to the right teams

Next year teams will actually have cap space which should help a bit

The Carolina Hurricanes are notorious for their current leadership to make a trade down, or to at least take a time out. Bonus points for the rare case where they take a time out, and then trade down.

I’m not the scouting expert.

what I heard was that there appears to be a drop off between 20s picks snd 2nd round picks. thus nobody moves.

Also…..

when was the last time there was no 1st round pick trades During draft time?
