The game is being moved because the state of NY, along with the NFL, wants to avoid backlash if fans died attempting to go to the game, which some probably would have when you have whiteout conditions with 65+ MPH winds.

Anything over 50MPH wind is considered “damaging”. Trees. Power lines, etc. Anything over 58 is considered a “High Threat To Life”. 60 mile gusts can sweep people off their feet.

If it were just wind, or just snow, they play tomorrow. But not when you combine the two. I don’t like it. I LOOOVE snow games… But I get why this decision was made.

I don’t like this game, it's the kind of game Pittsburgh wins and Buffalo drops.
Squeak this game out and go to the superbowl

Too many things to overcome for the Steelers here. Their best player is out, they're on their 3rd string QB, Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in close to a decade, etc.

Tomlin hasn’t given up less than 40 in a playoff game since the end of the Obama administration. 45 against the Jags, 48 against the Browns, 42 against the Chiefs.

BTW for those who were/are whining about the game being postponed or comments I've seen elsewhere about how this is why Buffalo should have a dome because then this wouldn't happen...It's *still* illegal to drive in the large majority of Erie county including around the stadium due to whiteout conditions and we're ~2.5 hours from original kickoff time.

The Bills could have a brand new 10 billion dollar state of the art dome complex and the game still couldn't take place because no one is allowed to drive to it right now.

What a joke. Shocker, it snows in cold climates in the winter. Suck it up and play the damn game.

Did you not read any posts before posting this? It's about public safety. Not the game itself.

Scene in Buffalo as the sun is setting

Incredible that we have posters who think people should be out and about driving to the game in that kind of weather.

What's the weather like now? You're looking at something that was happening yesterday.

People died in the 50 inch blizzard in Buffalo a year ago, even though there was no football game.

The only ones who believe the game must go on are people who never dealt with such events
Also, even if you for some reason believe that the NFL shouldn’t make public safety calls, it’s *still* illegal to drive in Erie County right now.

The only legal way to have a game today would have been to have everyone (players, refs, workers, etc) walk to the stadium which would obviously be idiotic.

Or they don’t factor in that this game would have no fans ala 2020 season.
Plus, if there was a serious injury during the game it would take much longer to transport the injured player to the hospital.

Curious , what's the status with snowmobiles? In those conditions. Having nothing to do with the game obviously

This isn’t some kind of controversy is it? Easy call to move the game back a day. Buffalo gets these storms often enough, they’ll be fine by tomorrow to safely hold it, but ya, they needed a day to deal with it. Its a lot of frigging snow.

Tomlin might be the best coaching job of the year to have the Steelers playing in playoffs

I mean he’s not winning an award but for degree of difficulty bravo.
