What the real height of this guy ?

NHL.com list him at 5'8" 148
HockeyDB.com list him at 5'9" 148
The NCAA list him at 5'10 155
Eliteprospects.com list him at 5'10 161

:huh::help:
Hutson grew by two inches since he was drafted and different site are posting different official measurement taken since then.

He has reached 5'10 in the last few months. As he was expecting. He could add one inch maybe. And then add 15 to 20 pounds to that frame.

Need a HFBoarder to track this guy down with a tape measurer!

Or do what my grand ma used to do on the kitchen door frame

BU: 5’10, 155

Gazette: 5’10, 158.

Hutson was a star with the U.S. National Team Development Program, but teams were wary because of his size. At the combine prior to the draft, Hutson was measured at 5-foot-9 and 148 pounds. When he was interviewed by teams, he carried a letter from his doctor saying that a growth spurt was imminent.
You should always listen to the doctor.

A freshman for the third-ranked Boston University Terriers, Hutson is 5-foot-10 and has added 10 pounds of muscle. He’s still small for a defenceman, but his stature is similar to some other college-trained defencemen enjoying success in the NHL

Recent Marco D’Amico article says BU officially upgraded his vitals but when asked about it, Hutson gave a nebulous answer: “I’ll take it”. Sounds like something one would say when being credited with something better than you know but don’t want to read too much into it.

I'm really wondering how the habs are going to mess this one up this time.

McDonaugh, traded for some bags of pucks
Subban, routed him out of town
Sergachev, traded him for a bag of problems

At least Hutson is not a 1st round pick, maybe we'll get to see him evolve into a Norris D one day as a habs.

He does great things with the puck no doubt and will be a steal by the looks of it. Just hope he can play defensively well to be a top 4 instead of a bottom pairing offensive specialist

You shouldn't worry about his defensive ability, he's way better than we give him credit for. If he's really like 150 soaking wet playing against big guys and able to do what he's doing, imagine what he could become in a few years.

Geez, at that rate he’ll be 6’2 190 in 2yrs

He was expected to add height and weight so this doesn’t surprise me.

I honestly see him toping off at 5ft 11”1/2
And 190lbs which is fine by me with that skill set…..maybe we’ll luck out for once and get a superstar out of nowhere.

5'-11" and 190 lbs would be ideal for a player like him. Got a fair amount of weight to add to get there though. Would that slow him down or make him more explosive with edge work/strength?

Time will tell. The kid has top notch offensive skill/vision. Work on that physical strength and his shot! I want him to improve his shot.

Even if he stopped growing right now, and just adds 20 pounds in the next 2-3 years, I would not worry about his physical presence in the NHL . Just pair him up with the Sheriff at the blue line and watch opponents stay clear of any wrongdoing when he's on the ice.
I'm calling it right now: the kid is a blue chip.

One of us should go to Boston, see what kind of shoes Lane is wearing, buy the same model. Walk casualy to Lane and ask for a photograph, "Sorry lane, can you stand straight right next to me? It's a Québec tradition for photos, Hehe strange culture right?!".

Then we take our guy to the doctor office, get his official measurements. Ask a forensic détective expert in photography to give us Lane exact HF official measurement relative to our boy's height.

PPG wise he is ahead of anyone drafted last year, including Cooley and Snuggerud.

He is also leading ALL TIME the PPG by an U19 defenseman, ahead of Leetch and Fox (By a shitload btw).

He also has the second best PPG at 1.4 in the last 25 years by a defenseman in the NCAA, only behind Fox's third and last NCAA year which was 1.45. Fox was 21.

If anyone doesn't think the season he is having is historic, they aren't paying attention.
Well said

At the time of the draft I was excited we picked him because of his skill, but I never got too excited because I doubted his size and ability to play defence at the pro level.

As the days go by since then, I am liking this player more and more. I'm not as worried about his size OR his defence because what he's doing offensively is just incredible to watch.

I can't stop dreaming of him wearing the CH and going coast to coast ala Makar, and driving the net with a backhand finish top ched.

He's slowly becoming my favorite prospect. It was Beck for a while before that. I can honestly say that him blooming into a superstar is not that far fetched anymore.

And I'm talking superstar, at least offensively ... not just 'good'.

190lbs is 30+ extra pounds of muscles. Could help defensively and physically, but could also completely kill his game and slow him down.

They're both lefties. Not ideal.
