Thanks! I think maybe Jeff Skinner could be a better comparable given Skinner's willingness to play in traffic (though maybe that scares some people). I think CC will end up being a star just because he'll destroy the PP with that shot. His ability to be moving constantly and compete level should make him a big threat on the man advantage.
I don't know. Skinner is a beautiful skater like Mete. Stylistically I can see it though

Name a single player half of 5’ feet dominating the league right now.” Gaudreau? Is that what we’re relying on him turning into?

A.Debrincat, 5'7, 41 goals, 78 points
T.Johnson, 5'8, 29g, 47 pts
C.Atkinson, 5'8, 41g, 69 pts
M.Zuccarello, 5'8, 40pts in 48gms
J.Gaudreau, 5'9, 36g, 99pts
V.Arvidsson, 5'9, 48pts in 58gms
B.Gallagher, 5'9, 33g, 52pts
Y.Gourde, 5'9, 22g, 48pts
T.Krug, 5'9, 53pts in 64gms
J.Marchessault, 5'9, 25g, 59 pts
J.Spurgeon, 5'9, 43pts (dman)
B.Marchand, 5'9, 36g, 100pts

Keep in mind there are only 42 players 5'9 or under who played in the last season.

6 out of 42 were drafted 4 years or fewer ago
12 out of 42 were impact players
17 out of 42 were 25 or younger
18 out of 42 were never drafted.
Only 7 out of 42 turned 30 years or were older.

And I left out the middlers, the Byrons and Shearys of this world.

I said half of 5 feet. If he grows which he can, great. He’s not there now. The rest outside a couple are pretty mediocre. That’s hoping for the best outcome like I’ve been saying.

Gallagher himself has said he’s not 5’9.

Sure but Caufield is homerun or complete bust. Theirs no in between. If he's not producing he's a huge minus for your team.

Guys like Poehling can still contribute even if they aren't producing.

Would you consider him becoming a Gionta or Briere a home run? What about Derek Roy? What about a goal scoring winger version (where size matters less) of Desharnais?

I can see Caufield becoming one of the best goal scorers in the game year in and year out (a definite home run), but I could also see him being a 20 to 30 goal a year spark plug (which I wouldn't call a home run).

I could also see him bust, but, to be honest, if we drafted a guy like Krebs and his offense doesn't translate but he sticks around as a hard working, defensively responsible 15-20 point a year guy, who really cares? That kind of player is fungible anyway.

N.Deslaurier?, is LH, let alone not a sniper :P
Maybe you meant Gallagher hehe

Definitely not a sniper in Caufield's type of accuracy no one has a better junior record for scoring like that. I think Guy Lafleur scored 130 goals in one season though. Gretzky 92 goals in the NHL. Habs Prospects has Gally as a LH and DesLaurier as a RH by the way, definitely better sniper's than I am though, unless we are talking darts or other targets.:vhappy::vhappy::vhappy:

Beaulieu was a great pick; he had a very nice set of tools.

Eventually we saw that he had no toolbox.

Still, if he was smart he could have been a strong #2 defenseman.

I am usually on Timmins side but this was not a great pick. He underestimated the reason for which he fell. Maybe Timmins felt that Beaulieu was of merely moderate idiocy, but that wasn't the case. ......He was a full fledged clown shoe.

If you had a choice between Zadina and Caufield, who would you want for the Habs?
Caufield has better puck skills, I'd say not a harder shot, but better release, better skater, better playmaking. Both of their games are comparable, but Caufield just has a bit more offensive tools and is just prettier to look at on the ice.

His stickhandling doesn't get enough recognition because his shot is just on another level.
