Rubtsov scores as nice goal similar tot he first Slovak one. Primary assist to Samorukov. 2-2 with a minute left

passer looked like Abramov to me, I must have mixed up players when they went out of camera shot

Slovak penalty with 2 seconds left, going to OT now. Russia is going to have 1:58 of 4 on 3 PP

OT solves nothing. Time for a shootout. I assume it's going to be 5 shooters a piece like it was for the Russia/Denmark practice shootout

Russia win the shootout 3-0 and the game 3-2

Also Sukhachyov was in net for the shootout. I thougth Berdin started so they must have switched partway through.

watched some of the 1st and 2nd. Kostin seemed slow and didn't really do anything. Has he been struggling recently?

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve noticed Bragin’s teams have the propensity to play to the level of their competition.
They’ll look atrocious against a lower tier nation, but will play with total intensity and heart against a USA, Finland, Canada, etc.

Hey guys, I’m American but to be honest I feel like this year Russia is going for gold. Not exactly sure why just a gut feeling. I’m a devils fan and I’m very excited to watch Maltsev as I’ve heard a lot of good things. Can anyone give a scouting report on what kind of player he is?

Maltsev looks like complete two-way center almost without apparent weaknesses. I believe that in some things he is even more gifted than Anisimov. I'd like to see him as an NHL'er in the future.

Hockey by Russian junior team with Bragin is all about emotions.

What are the chances of Sokolov making the team? I picked him quite early in one pool 'cos I believed he will play with Abramov and Rubtsov.

Chances are good that he will make it. Sokolov has looked awkward so far on the off-wing and his skating has not been great. But I think they'll need his scoring.

Some reshuffling and a move back to his natural side is possible.

We've got a true Armenian flavor to the team this year.

"Вот я простой шофер. Пришел, меня спрашивают - Как ваша фамилия? Говорю: Хачикян. Говорят: Здравствуйте, товарищ Хачикян. Очень рад вас видеть. Взяли вещи, поднялись сюда. Живите, говорят. Представляете, а?"
