Just gave the DraftWired draft simulation a go and traded up and down a few times. Ended up with:

6 - Boqvist
22 - Kotkaniemi
38 - Kravtsov
56 - Dellandrea
64 - Gustafsson
66 - McShane
97 - Shafigullin
102 - Foudy
123 - Zhuravylov
128 - O'Reilly
129 - Dunkley
177 - Wylie

Can you say "Instant rebuild"?
That would be an insane haul!!

I disagree. Svechnikov will have an impact in the NHL next year. He would probably the best forward on this team right now.

I like Svech, and his game, but to say he would be the best forward on this team, before even having played 1 NHL game is a stretch.

As it stands, i dont see him outproducing Gallagher, Drouin,Galchy or Patches ( if he stays).

I am looking forward to see how he does at the next level though.

Don't see Drouin outproducing Svech at all lol, just not the same kind of player.

Am i the only one here who thinks the only player in this draft class who can step in next year and have an impact is Dahlin?

Many good prospects and future NHLers, none that can have a major impact within the next 2 yrs.

If you disagree, id love to hear which players can. Maybe there is some here that have watched particular players more and have a better sense of their potential.

Key word is "major". I agree with you on that one - but after a year of seasoning, I suspect a few will have a major impact.

How come no one talks about Jack Drury ? Have never seen him play, but he seems to have real good stats in the USHL.

Could he be a good pick up ?

You can guarantee he's on the Habs radar.
NHL bloodlines
Effort level to the maximum
Coaches love him

The question mark is offensive upside.

If we fall to 6th, any of you think it would be a good idea to call the Isles and offer our 1st+earliest 2nd vs their 2x 1st round pick??

We could pick the dman that will fall(Dobson-Bouchard??)+ a center(Kupari-Veleno or Hayton)..

Absolutely. Isles would never do it though.

Yeah, probably would be more appealing to them if we were 4th.. Lets say 4th+35th vs their 2 picks?? So something like Wahlstrom+dellandrea vs Bouchard and Veleno i guess??
Remove the 2nd and I'd do it. I would probably still do it with 3rd overall.
