Я думаю Россия способна победить Канаду даже в 3-х матчевом противостоянии)

I think not... but in a 1 game scenario anything can happen, but in a series of games I'm afraid not, no chance until Russia can get better depth at center and some d-men and better coaches.

and all posts are suppose to be in English.

Benn-Tavares-MacKinnon
Carter-Toews-Seguin
Nash-Getzlaf-Perry

Giroux, Duchene

Keith-Weber
Doughty-Vlasic
Pietrangelo-Subban
Bouwmeester

Price
Crawford
Fleury

My team would be:

Tavares- Crosby- Stamkos
Benn- Seguin- Giroux
Hall- McDavid- Perry
Bergeron- Toews- ROR
Carter/ Duchene

Keith- Doughty
Giordano- Weber
Vlasic- Subban
Brodie/ Pietrangelo

Price (if healthy)
Holtby
Fleury/ Lou

As of now, my team would be:

Steven Stamkos - Sidney Crosby - Patrice Bergeron
Jamie Benn - John Tavares - Tyler Seguin
Taylor Hall - Connor McDavid - Claude Giroux
Ryan O'Reilly - Jonathan Toews - Jeff Carter
Corey Perry
Nathan MacKinnon

Duncan Keith - Shea Weber
Marc-Edouard Vlasic - Drew Doughty
TJ Brodie - PK Subban
Mark Giordano
Brent Burns

Carey Price
Braden Holtby
Marc-Andre Fleury

All these posts and none want the #3 goal-scoring Canadian in the NHL right now? In fact, only Benn has more goals as a winger than this PK specialist winger scoring more than everyone above.

Making this roster is gonna be extremely tough for the managers.

I really like Brendan Gallagher's game in Montreal and think he has to be seriously considered here. He has tenacity, the speed, he can score, he battles, he hits, and plays a tough hockey, he's really in my opinion the perfect role player/13th forward for Team Canada that can eventually step up and create some energy on the ice if needed.

Then, I can't really imagine anyone leaving O'Reilly or Hall ouf the roster, as for now. But that would mean only one of Duchene/Nash could still get in.

Everything you posted (and I love Gallagher as well) applies to Marchand but Brad is better in every category to date. In fact, only Benn has more goals as a Canadian winger than Marchand.

My fourth line is simple:

Marchand - Bergeron - Crosby

Brad and Patrice kill penalties and Bergeron is brought in for draws. The elite lines everyone is listing above play the top 3 lines. Crosby gets in on the PP.

That, or re-unite Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin.

I imagine that you are whining about Marchand.

I didn't do a mock line-up but I don't want that POS anywhere near the Canadian team.

Don't want him on it, don't want him invited to any camps, don't want his name mentioned in regards to Team Canada other than in a list of players that will never be asked to wear the Canadian jersey.

I find Marchand quite underrated, but honestly this just looks like you're trying to build the team around showing off Marchand - Bergeron. Crosby plays with them, but on the wing? Seguin on the fourth line?

Why would you have the best player in the world out of the top 3 lines?

Crosby's going to be 1C. End of discussion.

Nope, on the national team Toews is the 1C. (He plays the harder situations and more minutes).

Crosby will be 2C, 1st PP center, he's used as an offensive weapon.

I expect the Seguin - McDavid duo to progressively become 1 and 2. Potentially Tavares should be in that conversation for the next Olympics. Tavares is a very good winger as well, so he's often used as such.

You don't want the best player in the world to play at his natural position?

I could see that. Toews should be playing against the opposing top lines.

I has been the case for the last 2 Olympics, I wonder why people even argue about what is an established state of affairs (look at all the "proposed" lineup!). If anyone can challenge Toews for that spot over the next 6 years it's McDavid, not Crosby (and I suspect, McDavid would have to push out Crosby first...).

I think Toews will retain that spot all the way to the next Olympics and then become a 3rd line center as his offensive numbers decline, while McDavid should rise.

Why do people get so bent out of shape with 1C or 2C, especially in mock line-ups?

Do you think Babcock is on the bench saying well I think i should put Crosby be out now but I have Toews as my first line C?

No the lines are made to fit the best players together and then played based largely on what is happening in the game/tournament.

If Canada is down 2-3 goals and getting a lot of PP then Crosby will be the "1C". If they are up a goal or two and/or killing penalties then Toews is the "1C". But really it means about jack**** overall and arguing over small details like that is fairly silly.

Agreed.

Its why every year, whether its the World Juniors, World Cup, Olympics, etc, people freak out that "X" player is listed on the fourth line.

Especially at the mens level, Canadian teams are so strong that lines pretty much get rolled evenly, save for special teams

I imagine that with those players taken they would put Seguin on RW and Giroux at centre... as Giroux is better on draws and defensively. Giroux did push both Seguin and Stamkos to wing when he was on the same WC team as them.

Yes, Canada usually lines up with playmakers at centre and goal scorers on the wings. Stamkos and Seguin likely both have futures on the RW. They've both actually talked about being viewed as RWs when it comes to making a national team.

Umm...check your facts. He already has played for Canada twice was a key in their victories...both gold.

27 goals. 1st unit PP. a lot more to his game than some of the regular season heroes mentioned here.

Hey did you manage to watch any of the 2014 Olympic games? Just a question from a real Canadian fan who watched Bergeron and Crosby alternate playing center and wing. Good job though trying to contribute to the conversation. Perry clear that you weren't watching much hockey and possibly cheering for the States?

Interesting to see this combination here more and more because I've thought about it myself as well. Perry would fit here very well imo. Here, or somehow with Tavares or Giroux.

Have you not been paying attention on the tournament format? The 3 highlighted players don't meet the age requirement and have to play on a ridiculous and gimmicky under the age of 24 North American team.

I don't think Ekblad would make it anyway. Seems like McDavid would though, and MacKinnon would certainly be in the running.

What facts do I have to check?

I said I didn't want him on the team there is no facts in that statement just opinion.

Marchand is a POS who isn't all that talented. He doesn't bring anything to the Canadian team and is much more likely to hurt the team with a stupid penalty than anything else.

There are a lot much more talented players to choose from so why waste a spot on a lesser talented, stupid player who is happier to take a major penalty in a key point in the game than to help the team win?
