I don't know enough about BMX to know if the track is safe or not, but there were a number of horrible spills at the London track during the 2012 games as well.

Seems far too random. I mean an element of luck in sport is good but BMX seems like a complete lottery.

If anyone wants to see a good race tomorrow, the men's mountain biking should deliver. Nino Schurter from Switzerland and Julien Absalon from France are at the top of the sport and should be 1-2 in the race. They're basically the Federer-Nadal of mountain biking. As an added bonus, Peter Sagan decided to compete in mountain biking instead of road riding at the Olympics. He probably won't win, but it is a good story.
